Welcome back Becker. Hopefully this does Forsberg well.

Good decision, only getting 7 minutes a night here won't do him any good. Glad to see Beck again too.

Now Beck will either be scratched or getting the same 5-7 minutes, won't do him any good either.

The thing is Beck isn't going to get much better learning in the AHL anymore. Those 5-10 minutes on NHL ice is very valuable to him.

Forsberg on the other hand has a lot to learn about NA hockey and the time in the AHL will be well served.

Welcome back Beck!

Nice to see Beck back up. Should be less damaging having Forsberg play top minutes now. Beck already knows how to handle himself at the NHL level and can contribute more in the 6-10minutes he'll likely be given.

Beck deserves this. He earned his spot with his play last year, imo. Too bad he'll be stuck on the 4th line most likely.

Several of us have seen benefit in Forsberg logging bigger minutes with the Admirals. Now he should get to do that and polish his game. Beck will be a good addition to the squad right now. Let's hope he makes the most of it.

probably for the best if he's going to be benched by Trotz, might as well get him playing big minutes in the AHL

Good move to get him some time over the weekend. Hopefully he stays healthy and burns it up.

Do we waive Spaling if Beck produces at a better clip than last year, while Forsberg lights up the AHL??

Projected lines based on this theoretical scenario?

Bourque-Legwand-Smith
Wilson-Fisher-Stalberg
Beck-Cullen-Forsberg
Hendricks-Goose-Nystrom

I hope Spaling doesn't go anywhere. He has played well lately imo and is using his size more and more. He has gotten a lot better at the dot as well. While I wouldn't play him over Fisher, Legwand, Cullen, or Goose I do see the need to keep him around because of injuries. There are a lot of teams out there that would love to have the depth we have at center.

Oh and you forgot Hornqvist...lol. I see the lines shapng up something like this for Fridays game.

Wilson-Fisher or Spaling-Stalberg
Nystrom-Legwand-Hornqvist
Bourque-Cullen-Smith
Beck-Goose-Hendricks or Spaling

You can't touch that Wilson-Spaling-Stalberg line after last night. Have to give them another game together. Same with the Legwand line. Stick Fisher on a wing with Cullen and Smith. see how that goes. Or Fish between Smith and Beck. Let Cullen play with Gaustad and Bourque. depth sucks. too many options with 234589023461 2nd-3rd line guys

Beck didn't look so hot in Milwaukee. The normal Taylor Beck effort and hustle wasn't there...

More ways to set up these lines than Waffle House Hashbrown Combinations

He'll be motivated now. He looked great last year in Nashville.

Not disagreeing with you - I haven't kept up with the Ads as much this season - but why reward Beck if his performance and effort are off from last year??

For all we know he will ride the bench the whole time he is here and because of his lack of perofmance in the AHL he was going to be sat anyways. So they figured he could ride the pine here just as well as he could have there and it opens a spot with the Ads for FF9. I guess we will see.

You're right, he'll probably sit.

Because he is the number one option in terms of helping the team immediately. Although other players may be more deserving in Milwaukee this year, Beck will be able to jump right in without the shock of being in the NHL, etc.
That being said, Beck has started to improve his play in the past few weeks.

I'd encourage you guys to check out the fan comments on the bottom of this game summary. There are a couple people talking about Beck.
http://admiralsroundtable.com/2013/1...-4-2/#comments

I know the talent was still there as we would randomly see it, but I think he was a little disappointed about being in the AHL. As kypredsfan said, he now has motivation

Forsberg sitting or playing was based on what he did on the ice. The time in Milwaukee should do him some good. Beck's performance will dictate his ice time during this call up.

Spaling stays as long as Fisher is hurting for sure. Once Fisher is healthy, if Beck plays well and Forsberg looks like he's ready to come back then we have a numbers problem...

As we saw last year having depth is a great problem to have.

there are certain guys that simply are not going to produce unless they are on a line with guys that compliment them. I said this when Stalberg was on the 4th line and he gets 2pts being on a top line with Wilson, Forsberg needs the same thing. I know Goose scored last night and FF9 got an A but no one is going to produce the way they are expected to by getting 7-10min a game. Especially not a guy you're looking to be an asset, playmaker, and scorer.

idk why, but nothing has made me like Beck yet.
