I would never wish ill will on a player, but I am praying that Seguin is a good, but not great player in DAL for the next 10 years and that the B's win a couple more championships, otherwise this place is going to become more unreadable than it already has...
Maybe someone could create an all-purpose Seguin thread?

I wonder if some people pine over their ex-spouses as much as they do over him?

Funny you say that, since that's the exact thought I had as opened the thread just now.

What a cool thing. Awesome experience for this little boy who seems to have had a lot of not-so-awesome ones.

dont mean to bring you guys down but sometimes this place helps....you know?
Ah...I do know.

Hug to you.

When my Mom passed away (5 years ago) many here we so sweet. People I had never even met. I still remember some of the heart warming things folks posted or sent to me in a PM.

For all here spend time with those you love and don't be afraid to tell them you love them. Life is short and you never know...

I am somewhat in the same place as you- given my Dad's prognosis in all likelihood this will be his last holiday season with us. He has done well since his release from rehab that I have to keep reminding myself of what the doctor said-it isn't a matter of if but when. It is so easy to trick yourself into thinking everything is going to be fine.
I am sending you a hug too.

My Mom (at 84) had a double by pass and valve replacement. They told her only 5% of the people didn't make it and she would have more energy...What they didn't say was how many didn't make it weeks later...

She lasted 2 months from when she had the surgery and we thought she was coming home. The last day I left work early because I was worried about her and the nurse said she would be gone by night.....Her choice...she did not want to live on a breathing machine. Had I not gone to see her earlier than I was going to I wouldn't have been with her when she left this earth...I would never have forgiven myself.

I wish the medical folks had been more honest about how she was doing. Had I known I would lhave brought her home.

This place definitely helps, more so than I think I'd care to admit at times. My father had a heart attack yesterday when I was at work, and my ****ing boss was giving me a hardtime about leaving to go figure out what, if anything I could do. He's 63 and lives by himself, so any issue he has I have to help with.

I probably should've posted about it because I was going through a total range of emotions from furious to worried, etc. Regardless, he's okay...but a lot of my worries probably could've been avoided if I jsut casually mentioned it here, because some of you have helped in the past.

Regardless, Wally, hang in there and try and make the best of it.
WOW....Your boss is an ass.

Best of luck to your Dad.

This story is amazing. It's so heartwarming to see so many people going way above and beyond just to bring a little sliver of joy to someone who's faced an incredible challenge just to live. Bravo to all those involved.

I'm sure your mom was very happy that you were there and thankfully it sounds like she was able to let go easily.

And you are right about the medical people- who do they think they are protecting by not telling the entire truth?????

Oh.my.God. Just when you've decided this planet is full of human scum people come together to do something like this. Tremendous story.

Now stop peeling onions in the OT thread dammit. My eyes hate it when you do that.

Saw this and thought of you guys here. Especially with the discussion about Tom Petty. But it's Prince who totally rocks it out. He's a tremendously under rated, or at least underappreciated, guitarist.

Prince is a very underrated everything. So much of his writing and composing gets recorded by other stars.
