Poor guy. I always liked Eaves...

Just no room and he didn't produce enough...

I think he has value for a shrewd GM. Bit of a gamble due to injuries though.

I think he is. If he can stay healthy for some team, he'll be valuable.

Might be a good pick-up for Maloney to bolster the Yotes's PK.

He was an amazing 4th liner before his injury.. He's been playing (understandably) timid since his jaw/concussion ordeal.

Still very serviceable though. Hopefully someone takes a chance on him since he's simply a roster logjam casualty.

It was either Miller or Eaves and with Miller getting a new contract and not having the injury history of Eaves it was probably an easy choice. He should still be able to provide value for a team as he can still play bottom 6 minutes and be a valuable member of your PK. Hopefully he gets claimed as it'll give the Wings another 275K for us.

Maybe the Hawks are waving Mills so they can grab Eaves? Not sure if the Hawks would know about Eaves before they decided on Mills though.

Eaves is an ideal 4th line winger. I have a hard time seeing him go unclaimed.

Hmmmm.... Eaves might just be a guy Buffalo would want if the talk yesterday about not gifting all the kids time in the NHL is to be believed. They could use a couple serviceable vets.

I highly doubt Eaves will be picked up. Dude has just not been good the past couple years. I guess if you want a veteran 4th liner who can shoot the puck, sure.

At only 1.2 and UFA at season's end, I see him landing somewhere new. But then again, damaged goods maybe. Who knows... At least Detroit can bury almost all of his contract.

With Bozak/Kadri/Bolland all out for the Leafs you never know if Toronto grabs him.

Eaves was a GREAT utility player before his injury, but he had a stable lineup spot then and hasn't been able to be worked back into the system with any lasting success since that time.

Someone should pick him up, he's worth something.

Oilers should snag him, they could use a solid veteran defensive presence in the bottom six

Doubtful. But he's a speedy winger with a great wrister and he works hard. People here are pegging him as a 4th liner, but I think he could be a solid 3rd liner if given the chance. The problem in his career has not been his talent level, but rather his consistency due to injuries.

I think Buffalo, Edmonton, and Calgary should think about picking him up. He's the sort of hard-working veteran who's rubbed elbows with stars. He has a lot to teach and can still play pretty well when he's healthy.

He's not what I'd call a defensive presence. He's more of an energy guy with scoring upside. He's not going to be a shutdown player.

He's Ryan Jones. We don't need more Ryan Joneses, we need actual defensive specialists.

He was top 9forward for Canes, he was even in top 6 for few games. The guy is kind of useless.
