The Rangers really need a center with size on the team. Brassard isn't cutting it. Is he available, what would it take to obtain him?

An upgrade, so a package for Stepan.

I'd swap Berglund for Brassard

What would the Blues be looking for in return? He seems like the perfect young 3c, with 2c upside and size. Can't really see him having huge value, yet. I'm not sure why the Blues would want to move him.

It seems Berglund hasn't quite met his expectations and we're starting to realize this. I personally thought Berglund was going to be a consistent 30-30 guy with a few 40-40 seasons and he's just been so inconsistent. Also he's playing with Schwartz and Tarasenko and looks soooo slow next to them. He's still a reliable player but it's doubtful he will be who we thought he was going to be.

What would it take to get Berglund? A better center. Obviously we'd be adding. But as it stands now we can't afford to move him without another center coming back.

I like the Brassard for Berglund straight up trade. Brassard is trying to do too much here, it's not working. He can do a lot more with better linemates in STL.

You won't like it. The Blues lack centres, quality ones at least, so if we are going to move Berglund then we need a better centre coming back.

As frustrating as his offensive production is, he plays a strong all round game.

A 7th round pick so I don't have to read **** tons of hyperbole about how bad he is after every game.

Serious question why? That doesn't improve the roster at best it's a lateral move.

That's a pretty nice offer from the Leaf's, even with the cap hit. Cap hit for potential trade.

Bozak wouldn't get Berglund. If it's a center from Toronto, it's Kadri.

Well I mean, I highly doubt the Leafs would go there. Bozak+a prospect/pick would be about it.

Zero interest in Bozak. Berglund is the better defensive player, and Bozak's offense can barely touch 50 points playing with Kessel. Then there is the extra $1m. Just no reason to make that deal.

I know TSN/whoever had talk of the Blues being interested in Bozak back in June, but there is a big difference between getting a player in UFA and giving up assets for him.
