That's the reaction that White is afraid of. UFC is still a novelty, unike boxing, and results like these can scare away fans and mainstream media.

What the ****, people really defending Dana White?

Give some respect to the guy who made you millions, and obviously looks like he is living a real problem right now.

I was thinking the same thing. He could have a family member that is sick as well. His dad was sick during the time that he lost to Serra. I genuinely hope that GSP was just flustered and that nothing is wrong with him or his family, but what a tool Dana is. He'll turn on ANYONE!

I wish a journalist with some balls woudl stand up and ask White why he's acting like a caged baboon without actual concrete knowledge regarding anything he's cursing and complaining about.

Dana keeps talking about how much money GSP has made. How much money has UFC made because of GSP? This is how you treat one of the greatest fighters in your game? What a piece of ****.

Obviously, Dana would let him leave for medical reaons. You guys are so much into your hate for White.
Dana's a business man, and with all business men the bottom line is money. It's about the bottom line - end of ****ing story. Dana: "Kimbo will never fight in the UFC, women will never fight int he UFC, etc." Really, Dana? If it comes down to money and his principles, guess what wins out...

I don't think he's throwing him under the bus. He's just stating how you cannot do whatever the **** you want. In my opinion, GSP was the one disrespecting the guy who clearly beat him. If you're gonna tell the whole world you are taking a break or whatever, be honest and tell why because right now this is disrespectful. If it's for personal or medical reasons, fine. If you just realized you clearly ****ing lost and you're out of it, shut it.

Why is everybody so mad at White. He's right on everything, GSP didnt deserve the win, the Nevada national athletic commission is an absolute joke. Im glad White doesnt give a crap about being politically correct.

Well if you look at it in the UFCs POV, if GSP is truly retiring after this fight, who does the UFC have as draws now? If Silva loses then his legacy takes a hit. Jones is their only guy who can draw and even there it's nowhere near the level of GSP and Silva. They not only lose out on the possibility of having a rematch, also a superfight and what not. Dana White already lost Lesnar after he called it quits out of nowhere.

Yes you can. You can do and say whatever you want. You're the champ, and you ARE the UFC.

I think he is disrespecting his champion. Rogan looked like he knew that GSP was going to retire after the fight. GSP didn't want to say it after a poor showing and that's why he hummed and hawed about it.

If Joe knew, then Dana knew too.

fair enough mate, but there should still be some loyalty involved here. That's something that is really lacking in modern day business.

He said, 70% was enough for him to beat GSP. Lol Then he continued to say he did everything. it makes no sense. He cant blame anyone but himself. Glad Dana burned him on that one.

Yeah, no. GSP isn't the UFC. He did a lot for the sport and he's a legend, but not more so than other legends, past and future. You can't do anything you want in life. That's just the way it is. Chuck Liddell couldn't spend his ****ing nights boozing and gambling while in the UFC just like you can't decide to take time off out of nowhere when you're champ without giving very good reasons.

It was to be expected because MMA is run by bullies, likeDon King used to rule boxing. Thing is, their most prized fighter probably realized tonight he didn't have it in him anymore. And is leaving the sport. Good for him.

Gsp and Silva MADE the UFC. When the older guys were there, the UFC was marginal at best.

And yes you can do anything you want. You can retire for any reason.

False, if Griffin and Bonnar never happens, the UFC would be dead.

Sure you can retire if you want. You can't take a ''leave of absence'' from a belt like White said.
