Seems like a win-win to me.
2 prospects that needed a change of scenery.

Holland had higher pedigree originally so to compensate Toronto takes a contract the Ducks didnt want and throw in a couple picks.

Middling 22 year old forward prospect for a middling 22 year old defense prospect.

I wonder if Leafs gm's are only allowed to have Anaheim in their contact list lol

Meh, not a bad trade, hopefully Holland proves somewhat usefull. I'm not expecting too much.

Anaheim fans, don't expect much from Blacker. He's been unable to prove anything in the pros and he seems like quite the idiot. Maybe a change of scenery will be good though.

Obviously I'm hoping Holland proves himself if he plays 25 games so he's worth a 2nd, but I'd hope if he's not being productive that he's sent to the minors to avoid trading a another 2nd.

Let's hope Blacker turns into a Top 4 dman for you guys and Holland turns into a Top 6 C for us.

Holland actually kind of reminds me of kadri, a player with the tools and skills, but lacks the commitment and is/was lazy.

You could have said this much more succinctly:

"I hope he sucks and does not play 25 games"

I like this trade. Nonis is a good GM. TML could have a very good year and why not spending little to get something back. This is obviously done because of injuries/suspensions.

Blacker was not looking very special, while the old question marks on TML defencemen are looking solid. Not sure who P.Holland is, but he is a center, young. TML also shouldn't care about picks; TML like other big market teams can sign top tier FA and lesser FA at ease, and in turn trade them for value.

How is Holland overhyped? He has been the Ducks prospect whipping boy for a year. He couldnt fill a hole we had for years and Ducks fans were annoyed with it.

Funny tidbit:

The 7th-rounder Anaheim gets is the one they gave up when they got Steckel from the Leafs last March.

was never really high on blacker, seemed to lack the hockey IQ but possessed the skills to be a top 4. hopefully it works out for both teams.

Why bother getting rid of Holland for that? Surely if you shopped him around we could of got more.

Why is that? He has struggled to stick in the NHL. That's not exactly a prime trading chip. This is exactly the sort of return that should be expected under the circumstances.

Holland is worth a prospect+2nd or a late first to a team like Buffalo or New Jersey. Really stupid GM in Anaheim.

Cogliano was a talented, young forward with a solid NHL resume and even he didn't return that much. You guys really need to divorce yourselves from the idea that being picked in the first round translating to being worth a first in perpetuity.

That would be 4 goals in 5 games before tonight (2 ES) as the 5th one is credited due to a SO win.

That said, great crystal ball so far...

You mean, Blacker finally got value and Holland is an overrated prospect who will be a huge bust.

Remember, there's no such thing as value in Leafs prospects.

It's a great thing that someone finally made that point.

I just found myself an optimist.

Your point is still valid, but he had 4 games in the 14 minutes range.

What world are you living in? There is no chance we get a 1st for him. I'm glad there is a CHANCE at the 2nd.
