Yeah.

Someone in the thread on the mainboard suggested a gif just like that image, and Pete was the very first I thought of.

Given that Ryan wasn't injured and he kind of put himself in that position (Ryan skated in bent over-had he been upright the elbow would have been to chest) I don't see them suspending him. Could have been a penalty but the refs gave a make up call anyway.

He won't be suspended, if he was wouldn't there be a hearing set up already for today/tomorrow?

Not necessarily because the Bruins don't play until Monday the league can hold a hearing at any time before that game-although I suspect they would announce one is scheduled sometime today or tomorrow-with the Bs on the road and no extra D-man with the team they would need time to get somebody from Providence.

I think it is what it is-possibly a 2 minute elbowing penalty but unlikely needing supplemental discipline. Comparable to the elbow last season on Dougie by Stafford.

FWIW, Haggs talked to his league office sources and they said nothing for Seids.

The girl on Hockey Night In Canada just said the League reviewed the play and deemed it unworthy of fine or suspension. Paul MacLean wanted a suspension but didn't get it.

Just saw that myself on NHLN. That's the right call. There was some contact that I could see (hard to tell) but Ryan totally embellished. Not suspension worthy and really not even worth looking at to begin with. Minor penalty if anything.

The league isn't going to suspend Seids for that, since it was a gross embellishment on Ryan's part. He barely made contact. I'm just happy Ryan was able to survive the trauma.

Everyone got Shanny's paypal info? We've been getting slack with paying him on time, and I'd hate to lose our preferential treatment status.

That's one of the worst dives I've ever seen. If there was any justice, Ryan would be punished for perpetuating this type of crap. Some fans have become such babies when it comes to what a real hit to the head is.

And this "Boston gets away with everything!" "Campbell hurr hurr", **** is beyond annoying.

Don't worry, he's on Campbell's payroll.

I was thinking we should all go to local garden shops, buy a bag of manure and mail it to Shanahan.

i didn't see it as a dive. seemed more like ryan was afraid to get hit, so instead of absorbing a solid body check to his chest/shoulder, he got elbowed in the face. smart move by him

I was pretty comfortable with physics until I watched that hit.

Not to mention it looks like the guy is ducking INTO Seidenberg's elbow. That's a dive. Let's get serious. There should be NO suspension!

Bobby Ryan is questionable for tomorrow for all the talk of diving, practiced today, we'll see if he plays.

If I read correctly last night, Maclean said Ryan was injured...and then he practiced today...odd.

Holy embellishment BATMAN, but embellishment aside .......maybe that's why there wasn't a penalty on the play.

League reviewed it and saw no need for supplemental discipline, per NHL Network.

This kind of elbow is why there is a 2 minute elbowing penalty.

I'm guessing the Sens are trying to milk out a suspension in anyway possible.

Once they get the word that Shanny won't even look at it, Ryan will play. Guaranteed.
