Kevin Klein + Nick Spaling + 2014 2nd

Forget all the Weber trades. If Nashville moves a defensemen it is more likely to be Klein + in a package.

Value and trade interest?

Leafs would be interested in Klein and the 2014 2nd rounder.

Spaling? No Thanks.

Scoring. Klein for Raymond + 2nd? Raymond isn't signed past this year.

Edit: would be better if it was a signed player though.

What would it take to get just Klein as the Wings don't need a 2nd or Spaling.

Klein is signed to a very good contract and is a solid 2nd line possibly 1st line stay at home defensemen. With him + 2014 2nd Nashville would be looking for an established top 6 forward with a decent contract or 2 prospects that are projected to be top 6 and NHL ready.

I don't think Klien will ever be a top pairing dman.

I do think he is an extremely valuable asset though. Solid guy, skates well, great contract, still has nice upside.

A top six forward is not a reach at all, IMO.

Sadly, Isles would likely not be able to put together the right deal. We have Grabner and Bailey as tradeable assets, but neither gets Klein. We also have a few very good (but not excellent forward prospects (like Anders Lee). I do not see the Isles moving Nelson, Strome, Okposo, Nielsen, Tavares, or Martin though and I suspect that is what it would take.

Your right, Klein will never be a first pairing night in and night out...but he might be our best skater, he is physical, fast, doesn't take penalties, and he can eat minutes. He can be leaned on heavily when needed and he is a beast on the kill. He took a hometown discount so I hope we never trade him.

Honestly no one on the Wings fit what the Predators need. A couple of nice prospects but they are not NHL ready yet.

Troy Brouwer with 20% salary retained (essentially rendering the cap hits equal) for Klein? Maybe with a pick or something added from Washington?

Strome would be a very workable deal but like you said I doubt the Isles are up to moving him.

Don't really need a 28 year old right wing. Decent value but I think the Predators have enough guys like Brouwer. Probably looking for a little younger and better deal.

Canucks don't really need Klein or a second.

We's gice you Booth for Spaling. Booth is better when healthy. We could add a pick if you want.

Strome would cost a lot more than Klien (and, no package deals). Think Strome+ for Seth Jones (Not saying that is at all workable, but that is about what would have to happen to get Strome).

Like I said, I don't see a match there. The Isles could trade Grabner, Bailey, and/or Anders Lee. Value would not be there for Nashvegas.

Downgrade that package slightly, and I think the Preds could swing for Cammalleri. I don't know if that's what they are looking for though.

Cammy is a UFA this summer and he is making 7 million this year. Klien alone would be too much, although I do think Cammy can return a first at the deadline if he keeps up that strong play.

Pick? mediocre prospect and pick? As a defensive center he doesn't have the highest trade value.

What would Nashville give for Lupul?

115 points in 128 games as a Leaf. He just turned 30 a month ago.
