Setoguchi to the Coyotes

I think he still has a scoring touch in him, and he doesn't seem to be getting a lot of ice time in Winnipeg lately. In my mind he would be a very ideal fit for our open wing spot in our top 6

What would it take and what do the Jets need/want?

Would Schlemko and a 3rd get the job done?

Seto is never an ideal fit in any top 6.

Smith was never meant to be a number one goalie either.

he wouldn't cost much and like the other said, he is not top 6 material. He has been given plenty of chances, so lets stop with the smartass comments

shouldn't cost more than a 3rd to obtain or any mid level prospect.

edit: I don't know why anyone would really want to trade for him unless he was a piece of a bigger deal

Stop with the smart ass comments? I was simply implying that **** has changed for a lot of players who have come to Phoenix to play under Tippet's system....but okay. Sorry Dad.

other than that, I would gladly trade a 3rd for him. Former 30 goal scorer and two other 20 goal seasons, and he's still kind of young, I don't think we should write him off just yet.

For that, I'll take him back in SJ.

I don't think he's an ideal top-six guy at this point, but he'd be tied for 6th most points among Coyotes' forwards. He's only 26 and has speed and a shot. He'd add something different to the bottom-six mix that Phoenix currently has, and it's possible he finds chemistry with someone and puts up better point totals. Last year's totals have him at 27 points in 48 games. Tied with Doan for 3rd. I'd definitely be willing to roll the dice.

Seto seems to be in the doghouse a bit. He also plays with two shoot first guys. Not worried about him.

I'd love him back in San Jose - we'd need to unload Havlat's contract, but I'd love to see him play either with Marleau and Couture or eventually Torres and Pavelski.

I'm sure he will be available when the trade deadline rolls around. JETS are probably willing to discuss resigning him, but I'm sure he wants to test free agency.

Depending on the amount of suitors, I can see the asking price being a 2nd.

Yeah I was going to say if we shipped him out for a 3rd it'd be like paying a 30-40 pick for a 60-70 pick and setoguchi til the deadline

sure, we don't need to write him off, but people need to get over the fact that he is not a top 6 forward and 30 goal scorer. He will only benefit from being on a team that has massive amounts of depth and can play with a talented 3rd line center. SJ sounds like a perfect pit, not Phoenix.

MN just sent him away for Winnipeg's 2nd rounder (great deal for the Wild IMO), and I doubt he would cost nearly that much to obtain at the deadline. That's why I would say a 3rd / 4th rounder, maybe toss in a 6th and 7th on top of that depending on the team and other factors, or a mid level prospect alone / no picks... nothing special should be required.

A 3rd round pick and a mid level prospect should do the trick. I think a team like Phoenix would get the most out of Setoguchi as that's a team that seems to get the most out of its players.

The problem by trading a 3rd would be our budget. If we increase our budget I would rather it be for a top 6.

I was just joking around with Turris guys. I have a bunch of respect for how the Yotes have managed / coached their players.

but again, I don't he would be the best addition to PHX as others could. Good fits that I think for Seto would be Pittsburgh / Philadelphia / San Jose / LA / ST. Louis

What would the Jets want for Frolik instead? I'm a fan of Seto, but Frolik is better on defense while still having offensive skill. And defensive play is something that we need more right now than pure scoring talent.

Highly doubt the Jets would trade Frolik. He's a RFA so he will almost certainly be resigned.
