Boston at Carolina | Nov. 18, 7 PM

Sorry folks, I was going to put more effort into this GDT before I had a date run for 6 hours tonight. We watched football all evening. On a first date. And it was her idea. I think I might ask her to marry me. Anyway, this one is not going to be particularly GIMPtastic. I'll do better next time.

Anyway, through a quirk of the NFL and NHL schedules, two Boston-area teams are travelling to North Carolina for games at the same time on Monday night, albeit in separate cities. Due to this confusion, the pilots took off from Logan and flew their respective teams to the wrong cities, forcing the Boston Bruins to play the Carolina Panthers on MNF, while the New England Patriots find themselves in Raleigh for a matchup against the Carolina Hurricanes. Fortunately, the Celtics did not have a date with the Bobcats, thereby avoiding complete and utter chaos.

Lineups

Carolina Hurricanes
Based on morning skate/ever-changing Twitter updates/guesswork in the bottom six

Ruutu - E. Staal - Bowman
Gerbe - J. Staal - Dwyer
Tlusty - Nash - Terry
Komisarek - Malhotra - Dvorak

Sekera - Faulk
Hainsey - Bellemore
Gleason - Murphy

Ward
Peters

New England Patriots

Amendola - Brady - Gronkowski
Solder - Connolly - Cannon
Mankins - Edelman - Ridley
Blount - Wendell - Hoomanawanui (just because of the name)

Talib - Hightower
Collins - Spikes
Ninkovich - Jones

The other guy named Jones
Blount

Injuries

Carolina - Khudobin, Westgarth, Semin, Skinner, Harrison?
New England - Dennard, Gregory

Patriots win 5-1. Ron Hainsey scores six goals. Bill Belichick bucks tradition, wears hoodie behind the bench.

Panthers win 77-3, racking up 900 yards of total offense along the way. Shawn Thornton kicks the lone field goal for the Bruins. Boston fans learn Patrice Bergeron can throw a wicked good spiral (their words, not mine), but none of his receivers can catch it.

Also, Adam McQuaid will not play due to a leg injury.

Lineups

Carolina Hurricanes

Tlusty - E. Staal - Semin
Gerbe - J. Staal - Dwyer
Terry - Nash - Ruutu
Bowman - Malhotra - Komisarek/Dvorak if he's healthy

Sekera - Faulk
Hainsey - Bellemore
Harrison - Gleason/Murphy

Peters
Ward I think?

New England Patriots

Amendola - Brady - Gronkowski
Solder - Connolly - Cannon
Mankins - Edelman - Ridley
Blount - Wendell - Hoomanawanui (just because of the name)

Talib - Hightower
Collins - Spikes
Gregory - Jones

Dennard
The other guy named Jones

P.S. Patriots win 5-1. Ron Hainsey scores six goals. Panthers win 77-3.
That first line is going to shred us.

Hilarious! Sadly Dennard and Gregory are out tomorrow night for the Pats

Good luck tomorrow on both games

That means we're getting the Patriots' backup goalie! Hooray! Guess I'll have to update the OP.

Good luck to you... but not too much.

I'd assume Semin's going to be out tonight, no?

One would think, but I haven't seen any updates. I'll update it if anything official comes out, since that would also involve juggling the lines.

Dvorak is out on the ice as well, per Chip and MSmithCanes.

No Semin and no Harrison.

Apparently Muller is now just trolling this board.

I'm so afraid of that 3rd pairing. Gleason may still have use, but he seems like a square peg here right now.

Carolina is 0-4 with Tim Gleason in the line-up and 8-4-4 with Tim out of the line-up.

Ok, I know, small sample size and the 4 teams he has been in the line-up against are a combined 53-22-3 (Pit, TB, Col., and St. L), but it's fun to throw that out there anyway.

Skinner was "ready" whether he was or not. Let's hope he truly is ready considering who the opponent is.

I didn't read through the last two GDT, but all of you hating on Gleason seem to be the guys that constantly ride Faulk's jockstrap. Has that subsided at all after these last couple of games?

Tlusty has to be on the 3rd line if Skinner is out, right? RIGHT?

Faulks had a couple poor games recently. If he reaches the number of poor games that Gleason has played in the past, then he will recieve the same treatment as Gleason is getting now.
