I don't watch the Oilers that much but after Hall I'd think RNH is the most untouchable on the Oilers roster?

Hall and RNH aren't going anywhere.
If anyone's getting traded by edm it's Eberle or hemsky . Both of which can fetch a pretty nice return.

There's 10 threads a day on Edmonton trades.... Rather just have one big one personally.

Money doesn't work on these deals. At least thought was given to team needs.

Definitely wouldn't do the first. Yakupov has a lot more value than that.

Oilers do not part with any of their 1st overall picks unless its some substantial overpayment.

Wrong two players to be trading, if they were blowing up the young players it's Eberle that should go.

Simply because Eberle sucks but the rest of the league hasn't caught on to that fact yet so he could get a decent return.

overrating Bjugstad i am thinking especially if you think he makes RNH expendable.

RNH + Yakupov + 2014 1st + Klefbom to fix defense ?

yikes.

pretty sure he is still leading the club in scoring and is a regular on PK... He might not be a superstar but he far from someone that "sucks".

These are all pipe dreams.. MacT is not trading any of the young core guys..

Fixing of Oilers would have to combe by trading guys like Gagner, 2014 1st, Hemsky or via free agency.

I say we take off and nuke the site from orbit.

It's the only way to be sure.

Someone explain to Oscar what "sucks" really means, he obviously doesn't understand.

I think you are underrating Bjugstad. I would make that deal.

.
Leading the Oilers in scoring is not any great feat when they get shut out 3/4 home games.

Fixing the Oilers this late is a rebuild is going to be tough .
1st thing would be go back in time and draft Defence first or big centres that can play a 2 way game .
RNH will be a good 2 way player , but we should have had a vet centre to show him how it is done .
Back to the present

We have d man coming that are going to be better then anything we have right now . So we need to rebuild our bottom 6 outside of Gordon they all can go . Gagner and one of the Kids (Eberle or Yakupov ) along with Hemsky can go for a bigger more physical second liners . Hemsky can go for cap space to use on a goalie . Perron Maybe we can keep him or maybe trade him for someone that is bigger and meaner . Dump some of the useless D and sign stop Gaps that can play for 2 to 4 years and let guys like Nurse and Klefbom learn from NHL defence men .

Bjugstad is an awesome piece. I don't think Campbell has a lot of value as a trade piece, though.

Lol, if you guys are looking for top 10 defenseman in the league, you will end up sending half of the team the other way. The perfect range for you guys would be to target 2 of 20-30 defensemen. It will give you more options.

Something like Orpik+ for Hemsky would work for Pens easily. Orpik wouldn't mind signing if the price is right. Sign one of Stastny or Thornton in the summer if available and if they are happy helping your team. Look for a young unproven goalie or target Anderson.

I know most of you don't want to sign these kind of pieces but this won't hurt your team's rebuilding. If no body agrees, I don't mind. Please don't go on a long debate on this. It's just my opinion. Don't get mad.

Cheers!

Maybe Edmonton should go after Kelly in Boston? He has a NTC but could be a great asset to them and comes at an affordable contract. Maybe Eberle for Kelly, Krug, and a 2014 1st.

You can keep drafting while getting better with that move and Boston saves some money while adding a young top 6 scoring winger.

Maybe move Hemsky for another solid top 4 defender and a good bottom 6 guy and it will clean up your roster a bit. Matthias and Robak for Hemsky 50% retained, Arcobello, and Boston's 1st?

Edit, forgot Eberle makes $6m, would probably need more salary coming back but still a good idea to make yourself competitive against teams like LA, Phx, SJ, Ana, and Van. Maybe retain $2m for 2 years and have Boston toss in Knight.

Then just sign some FAs in the summer to round out your bottom 6 and move out any D for picks + depth guys. Steen, Santorelli, Moss, Fiddler, Kulemin?

Hall - RNH - Yak
Perron - Kelly - Gagner
Hartikainen - Matthais - Smyth
XXX - Gordon -XXX

Petry - Ference
Belov - Shultz
Shultz - Krug
