argh. i still have faith that brad stuart wil grow to his full potential, it may take longer with these constant interruptions of his development, but he'll be a late boomer. but he's still got all the tools to be a #1 dman.

The Sharks just can't catch a break. It all started when Nolan got injured 2 years ago, after an impressive 40 goal campaign. Since then, the team has gone under management chances, core player moves, holdouts, injuries to top players, etc.. Now this.. I hope he will be healthy soon

Bad news for Stuart....I was expecting for him to have a solid season this year.....I had selected him in quite a few of my hockey pools and thought he was an excellent late round pick in those...At least he's not out for a long time.....I hope.

A question to the fans league wide: Do you view Stuart as damaged goods? A young player who has a bad ankle, a bad noggin, and now a bad shoulder. Would you say that this young potential All-Star dman still has it, or is he too injury prone?

Stuart is only 24-years old and has only played for 4-seasons in the NHL and 2 of those 4 seasons he played in all 82-games......last season was the only real season where he missed plenty of games due to injury........I wouldn't give up on him just yet....most defencemen take longer to develop in the NHL compared to forwards...as well my rule of thumbs for hockey players in Pools are:

(a) Forwards start to reach their potential by the 3rd-year
(b) Defencemen start to reach their potential by their 5th year

Stuart entering his 5th NHL season this year meant for me that he was going to have not only his best NHL season to date but as well get selected to play in the Allstar game.
