Yeah I rather give away older players too and let the young guys move into Vancouver.

Then you don't know how brutal we really are. Edler is a marginal #1D at best and even acquiring someone like Weber wouldn't pull us out of the cellar at this point.

Some Canucks fans...

Desperate to a)jumpstart the offense with a dynamic forward talent, and b)start putting in place pieces to take over in the coming years as the Sedins start to slow down and ultimately leave.

An offer like the OP represents an opportunity to do BOTH of those things in one fell swoop...and many Canucks fans balk at the idea because it means giving up Horvat, who could be a 2nd line Center eventually? :

I would consider that if a player like Kesler was coming back and you took Eberle.

I'd do that easily, even if it left us with a major hole at centre.

Sedin - Sedin - Burrows
Hall - Santorelli - Eberle

Hey, the Hawks won a cup with Handzus as their number 2 centre

Yes to the OP. Love both Horvat and Tanev, but Yakupov was drafted 1st overall last year. It's an easy decision for me.

Oilers win that trade. Kassian is going to be very good.

Perron-Kesler-Kassian
Joensuu-Gordon-Gagner
Gazdic-Arcobello-Pitlick

Edler-Petry
N.Schultz-Belov
Ference-J.Schultz

Yeah I'd do it!

No they don't IMO they get fleeced, Hall is an elite talent at the age of 22. I'd dance in the streets if that deal happened IRL.

Yeah I'd do it!
Now all we have to do is get Kesler and Edler to waive their NTC's

Kassian plus Jensen for Taylor Hall.

Looks good untill you look at the bottom 6 and the defense. That top 6 is also way too soft.

We become the Oilers.

The goals you'll get will make up for it!

I say yes if I'm Edmonton but I think the Oilers can get more. I said this at the draft and I will say it again. Yak is headed toward bust status. He may score but that's all he does and he better do it frequently because this isn't the KHL. Edmonton needs to get Gally and pass on Nail. Size and skill is better than just skill.

Eberle + Klefbom for Edler + Hansen

Oilers get better now and tougher to play against

Canucks get younger and add a natural goal scorer to help their offense.

The Oilers with two more PPG forwards, a better D and better goaltending. Seriously, as much as I like Kesler Vancouver wins this trade easily.
