Your favorite line in Leafs history?

What is your favorite forward line in Leafs history?......was it the 'Hound line' of Clark-Courtnall-Leeman?........or was it the Anderson-Derlago-Vaive line of the '80s?......which is your favorite line in Leafs history and why?

Andreychuk-Gilmour-Borschevsky

Nik #16 was my favourite all-time Leaf...I was a small little runt with a jersey that weighed a ton because of all the letters in BORSCHEVSKY across my back.

Every time they were on the ice, I just *knew* something good was gonna happen. The only time since then I've had that feeling was 2 playoffs ago whenever the Roberts-Sundin-Thomas line was on (like the huge comeback against NJ only to lose in OT when Aki Berg let Randy McKay go in alone and score).

1.andreychuk gilmour clark -was incredible. after nik went down.

2. williams sittler mcdonald -the perfect line!

3. roberts sundin thomas -mats and stumpy had that right corner owned and adding gary to it that one yr in the playoffs was unreal.

4. ???? sundin mogilny - does it matter who plays lw ?

5. osborne olcyzk leeman -too wimpy, but clever

6. berg zezel osborne - -but burn's used it like his life depended on it some nights

7. poddubny ihnacak frycer - a wierd one. i always thought ihnacak deserved more recognition

8. hoglund mccauley roberts -it only lasted for a playoff month. but what a month!

9. boutette jones butler - only roger nielson could make this work

10. anderson derlago vaive - vaive was the immovable lamp post.

Plf has real good ones. Did Errol Thompson play with Sittler and McDonald as well?

I remember the Boutette, Butler and Jones line.

Vaive-Derlago-Anderson was a good one

Sittler-McDonald and Tiger was the best one I saw the Leafs have..

the hound line

Ellis was on a good line, wasn't it Sittler and Thompson?

This one was never a line with the Leafs but at an oldtimers game once they had a line made up of Wendel Clark-Darryl Sittler-Rick Vaive.....3 of the best captains in Leafs history playing on the same line together......

as for a line that actually played together, the one I love the best was Clark-Gilmour-Andreychuk.......growing up and watching the Leafs during most of their lean years, the years that this line played together in Toronto were the years that the Leafs organization started to get some respect once more around the League like they once had prior to Harold Ballard owning them........these were the years that the Leafs made it back-to-back to the Final 4........they didn't win the Cup those years but for Leafs fans everywhere who were exposed to many years of Bad Leafs hockey and losses those back-to-back years in the early '90s was the next best thing to winning the Stanley Cup.

I thought the 1947-48 Leaf Line of...

Syl Apps before he retired centering Ted "Teeder" Kennedy and Max Bentley after he was acquired from Chicago was an impressive an powerful line for the Leafs..

How about the 1935 line of Joe Primeau between Harvey "Busher" Jackson and Charlie Conacher..that also had legends such as Hap Day, King Clancy and Red Horner on that team and the exciting Frank "Buzz" Boll ...

The best line I ever saw with the Leafs was Sittler, MacDonald and Thompson.
Then they traded Errol for Dan "snowshoes" Maloney. uggh

Others have already mentioned Thompson - Sittler - McDonald & Poddubny - Ihnacak - Frycer who were two of my favorite lines...

So how about:
  • Paiement - Sittler - Martin
  • Ellis - Ullman - Henderson
  • Anderson - Boschman - Saganiuk

How about the 1940-41 team that one the Championship lead by

Syl Apps centering Gordie Drillion and David "Sweeney" Schriner

Apps (1937) & Schriner (1935) both won the Calder Trophy's a few years earlier as Rookie of the year combined with Gordie Drillion to form one on the most Dynamic lines in their ERA...

Nope Don't think so Ullman and Keon where both natural centers and I can't remember other than maybe PP time that either played a position other than center..

Great lines p.l.f....your #7 line of poddubny ihnacak frycer was a great one too........I remember one night especially in the 80s when the Leafs beat those high flying Oilers team at their own game at Maple Leaf Gardens by a score of 10-to-8 and these 3 had a hell of a night against the Oilers....Frycer I especially liked...would it be safe for me to call him a "poor man's Jagr?"

Best Leaf line in History..

That's easy is was Harold Ballard describing Inge Hammerstrom..

He could go into the corners with a dozen eggs in his pockets and come out without ruining any!!!!

That line has stuck for 30 years now..

The "Kid" line

Way before my time (before any of our times, I suspect!), but surely the "Kid" line of the early 1930's - Harvey "Busher" Jackson, Joe Primeau, Charlie Conacher (all in their early 20's) - has to be among the most storied lines in Leafs history. Leafs TV has some neat footage, and it's hard to argue with their performance...
