Its also unappealable (yes I made that word up).

If its 5+, he can appeal and the league apparently really really really hates to look stupid. So they just max 5 games all day long

The unappealing James Neal was given an unappealable suspension.

Works for me.

As ****** as it is, Neal would have a solid argument that it was accidental. I mean we all know it was intentional, but it's really hard to prove intention in cases like this.

I'm not really sure what to expect for Thornton. Part of me thinks he gets 10+, but it wouldn't shock me to see him get 5 as well. "Consistently inconsistent" is their only motto at the Department of Player Safety.

I so wish someone just drops Neal.

His MO is throwing a cheapshot then hiding on the bench right after so he doesn't have to answer for his antics.

Wouldn't mind Rosehill, Rinaldo or Simmonds going bezark on him.

If it was an accident, it would of been a surprise to him (as would be the natural human reaction) and he would of looked to see what he hit, but he didnt. He just kept on skating forward without a care.

And how do you not see a prone human being laying right in front of you? Especially with such a sharp contrast in colors (black color on white background) or are we to believe his field of vision is that poor?

I don't believe for a second that it was an accident, but he would have a case in front of an arbitrator. The league would have to prove that he intended to knee him in the head to keep it at 5 games. Neal could've kept on with the whole "I didn't see him" defense.

The city of Pittsburgh would collapse into the Earth. They've spent a couple years now trying to convince everyone that he's been reformed.

That's insane and a really good sign for the league if true.

This latest news of the cap rising back again just furthers my belief that this league is ran by morons.

Maybe don't slew foot a guy and punch him multiple times on the ground if you don't want writers criticizing "your game." Thornton dug his own grave here.

I do agree that Neal deserves more flak.

I've never watched a Rosehill interview before, but for some ridiculous reason, I'm shocked he is as well spoken as he is.

For some reason, probably to do with his on-ice image, you paint a picture in your head that he is someone who cannot string two coherent thoughts together.
