1) How many does he have since getting top 6 minutes?

2) It's not his fault that Kreider until yesterday couldn't score on a cheap hooker with a fistful of hundreds.

Nyqvist would be fantastic, but Tatar is a very good player as well. Sproul should be a target too. Big, RHD with great puck moving ability.

Okay, I got it. Took me three posts but; Del Zotto for Tatar and Sproul. Sounds like a very fair trade to me.

We aren't making a 10 player trade with any team. At best, 1 or 2 players going each way.

Chemistry is a real thing for teams outside of video games.

Yeah, me too.

Nyqvist is kind of a smaller finesse-version of JT Miller. I haven't seen him much the last year and a half, and his stats are interesting, but I don't know. He didn't stand out as someone that distinctivly gives us something that we don't have etc the last time I saw him. He would definitly compete directly with JT Miller for a spot and I am not sure who is going to be better.

I don't think the DRW got all that much quality here. Tatar doesn't stand out to me either. I mean, sure, he is a decent hockey player.

DRW had success when they drafted talent when everyone else drafted size and intanglibles. They still draft talent, but teams just don't let a Zetterberg go to the 7th round anymore, now you take those guys in the 2nd round at the latest...

DeKayser is an offensiveminded D with a right handed shot. That definitely gets me interesting. Babcock is supporting him and has hyped him, he has been decent when I've seen him. Not more or less.

That deal included 7 players, but only 3 were NHL regulars at the time. Reilly Smith has become a regular for Boston.

Chemistry exists sure, but not at the mythical proportions HF thinks it does.

Gretzky/Kurri type chemistry is extremely rare and we don't have any of that here. Seguin and Benn have had some of that going on, probably won't last though.

Cohesiveness is another thing.

Nyqvist is already a much better player than Miller. Both players can play wing or center, but Miller isn't NHL ready. Nyqvist is.

DeKeyser is a lefty, and he's as close to untouchable as you're going to find from the wings.

Yeah, but PHX is looking for a forward and not a D. The reason Rundblad is not playing to start with is due to their logjam at D.

Yandle 17 pts in 22 games (left D)

OEL 16 pts in 22 games (left D)

Morris 10 pts in 15 games (right D)

Michalek (right D)

Klesla (left D)

Stone (right D)

The problem for Rundblad is that he isn't breaking up the top two pairings of Yandle-Michalek and OEL-Morris. Both those pairings are playing great for PHX.

There is just no room for MDZ in PHX.

On paper, there ought to be room for Slats to work out a three-way deal. MDZ for a forward, like the Michalek brother or Havlat, and then that forward for Rundblad and 2nd rounder.

Yeah, but he is injured now and did win a spot for them in pretty good competition.

One -- great -- advantage with Rundblad is his contract situation. .750m per year for two years. After that, he is not arbitration eligble (unless I am misstaken).

Rundblad can play the point on a PP in the NHL today. I've probably seen 50 games with him if not more. I saw this game with him late in the summer, it was a rerun. He got to play on the point of the top PP unit. Yandle and OEL played, but they must have been bruised up or something. Rundblad was 100% offensively. Made so many poised world class offensive plays.
http://video.nhl.com/videocenter/con...,2,282&lang=en

His agility defensively is a bit of a issue. Not a big issue. Besides that he is fine defensively. But its as easy for him to get onto a top 2 pairing OR the PP in PHX as it is for a D to break out top 4 in NY. The diffrence is that he atleast would get good PP minutes in NY.

What is everyone's opinion on Ryan Sproul in a package coming back for DZ? RHD, puck mover, good size.. haven't seen him play but from what I read he is a nice looking prospect. How untouchable would he be?

Thing is, I don't know who to package with him if we're aiming for a scorer. Nyquist would come over alone or with a lower-level prospect if anything, I think.

And isn't DET really high on DeKeyser? He was playing really well for them before he got hurt. I'd think they'd be least reluctant to give him up.

Yeah, but he is older too. Nyqvist is 24, what is Miller, 21?

I like Nyqvist. He fits in well with Hagelin and Kreider on the left side. He is a bit of a mix between Hagelin and Miller.

My point is just, we got Miller already. I don't worry about Miller's ability in the near future to take a spot in the NHL. Fast is hurt now, but he is also in the mix. In two years time, I am not at all sold on Nyqvist being better than Miller or Fast.

Nyqvist is a energy player, he don't help our PP. He isn't a set-up man or something. We could do worse for sure, but its not of those players I think really makes sense. Zinbanejad gives us a right handed sniper option on the PP, potentially at least. Rundblad is a RD option for the PP and with Girardi and Strålman closing in on UFA. And so forth.

The upside is of course that we are getting faster with Nyqvist. Maybe that is worth it alone.

We should be targeting natural LW'ers.

David Perron out of Edmonton would be my first choice. Plays both sides of the puck well, not a bruiser, but not a push over either. Shoots well and is not a pass first thinker. Has the talent to play with Richards and Nash.

Mika Z would be a solid addition and someone I would also play in a more offensive role.

Either guy would fit what we are looking for.

Perron/Mika - Richards - Nash
Kreider - Stepan - Zuccs
Hagelin - Brassard - Callahan

very solid top 9 right there.

The bottom line is the rangers really need to move Callahan down to the 3rd line. His game just does not mesh well with Nash and Richards. Too much cycling down low. That is great for 3rd line work, but not so good for 1st line duties.
