Oh yeah

As much as i like OEL, I'd still probably take Karlsson. We could use a dynamic offensive d-man and that's what Karlsson would bring. A Suter - Karlsson pairing? Yes please.

Im just pointing out the double standard and how everyone is blissfully ignorant about his injury affecting him a lot still.

That pairing would be absolutely absurd given the ridiculous amount of minutes Suter logs. The Western conference as a whole is waiving the white flag even thinking about them together...

OEL is the whole package
Karlsson is the most gifted offensive force in the league from the backend with game breaking ability...

Whatever you prefer.

Would need a OEL over a Karlsson on the Caps

Of course if you go by this season alone, it's OEL. Karlsson has been bad this season, I don't think you'll find a Sens fan say otherwise. But Karlsson just has a better skill set and is more effective when at the top of his game.

Oliver Ekman-Larsson. Solid two-way game and not a terrible defensive liability.

Depends on the team's needs. Does the team need a solid, all-around d-man or a glorified forward who tries to play defence?

OEL pretty easily. He's the complete package.

I don't think Sens fans can continue to vehemently defend Karlsson's defensive play after this season.

Ottawa is funny. The fans make so many excuses for Karlsson.

Why can't people just admit that he's not good defensively? He has made good defensive plays, but on the whole he's not good defensively. He's lazy, shy to contact, and isn't hard on the puck in the D-zone. Yes, he's great when he has the puck on his stick and he's one of the best at getting it out of the zone when he does have it...but he is just not good defensively.

Also, outside of the beginning of last year which was a very small sample size this stuff has always been the case with Karlsson. I don't know why he gets such a huge free pass...because he has nice skating and puts up a lot of points?

He's an amazing player but there's no shame in admitting where his game has deficiencies.

Karlsson has far more than just about any other top Defenseman. Deal with it.

Considering it's this close while Karlsson is still only playing at 77,2%: Karlsson.

People love their hyperbole, Karlsson is actually above average defensively when he is at his best.

The scary thing is, Karlsson isn't 100%. Not only has he been struggling defensively, he's not himself offensively. He can be better.

Now think that he has a point per game, not playing up to standards. As a defenseman.

He could score 90+ points while being elite defensively in his prime. That's crazy. That's Lidstrom+.

Lidstrom+? Hahaha, wow.

Karlsson never was elite defensively. He went from really bad, to average, back to really bad... and revisionist history has him elite? Lidstrom+?

Wow.

Oh my God.

And Sens fans wonder where the hate comes from.

You guys can stop now, considering last season now looks like an over-achievement and Karlsson is back down to Earth.

And by the way, who's to say that he will ever be at "100%" again???

Hey guys.

Crosby is playing in an era where the players are bigger and the competition is stiffer.

That's Gretzky+.
