MTL will host preliminary round and TOR the medal round in 2015. Then it reverses in 2017 with MTL getting medal round and TOR preliminary.
That'd be pretty awesome, even if I could probably never afford tickets.

In December it's gonna be the 2014 Edition so in a year and a half I'm gonna be there!

2014 tickets CAN vs CZE: between 120 SEK and 320 SEK (example of the preliminary round)

For a tournament in Sweden. Ticket prices are going to be at least triple that in Toronto and Montreal, not including the medal games.

This is a pretty cool idea, I'll try to go if it's not too expensive... I am, after all, nothing more than a poor student.

Pretty funny for Quebec City who were trying to get it, and MTL nailing it.

Great news! I love WJC in Canada. So much better arrangement and atmosphere then in Europe. Im allready feeling embarrased about Sweden hosting 2014. Since Sweden had a little sucess in the tournament past few years, the Swedish Hockey Federation overrate the interests of the tournament in Sweden. They put the tournament in a arena that takes 15 000 people, but honestly its gonna be like maybe 4000-7000 people there when Sweden plays, and maybe 1000 when other nations play.

(Sorry for my english!)

Maybe for Canada games, but I can't see them jacked up for non-Canada especially when they are trying to fill a 20,000 capacity arena. Leaving them very high and having only 2,000 fans for a Finland-Czech would look ridiculous and a poor business decision.

To all those wondering about the schedule for 2015. The groups and scheduling of games for the tournament will only be determined once the 2014 Malmo, Sweden U20 Championship is over.

I paid $45 and $60 for games in Buffalo, the whole crowd was essentially Toronto/Hamilton/Niagara regiion.

I prefer the WJHC in smaller cities...but in Canada it's such a money driven thing that it ends up in the big 20,000 seat rinks.

Don't complain. Being a university student in Ontario is probably a lot worse than a Quebec student.

Dalton McGuinty/Wynne and the Liberals have continually screwed me and other students over the past 4+ years by saying "We'll freeze tuition costs" and meanwhile, tuition costs for Ontario students just went up again as recently as 2 weeks ago.

Nevertheless by 2017 i'll be done school (hopefully lol) and be able to watch them in Toronto (group play) or the medal round in Quebec .

I agree. I think since WJHC has gotten bigger with TV Coverage, they've become much more popular in Canada and thus more money for IIHF and the countries that are participating (well their Hockey programs at least).

Wrong. McDavid's draft year is June 2015. 2 years from now.

So this year was his first year in the OHL and his exceptional status year? Then yeah can't wait to see him in the red Maple Leaf come 2015

That would be correct. He's a 1997 birth year. Mcdavid will be eligible to play in the in the next 4 WJC 2014-2017. Although nobody is expecting him to play in all 4.

Correct. He's 2015 eligible, which makes him so much more interesting, due to his age.
