Which country has the better D core for Sochi?

I don't know if these will be the exact rosters, but here's an idea of what they'll look like:

Canada

Keith- Weber
Doughty-Pietrangelo
Vlasic-Subban
JBo
Hamhuis

Sweden

OEL-Hedman
Karlsson-Kronwall
Brodin-Edler
Grossman
Hjalmarsson

USA

Suter-Yandle
Mcdonagh-E. Johnson
J.Johnson-Carlson
Martin
Fowler
Bogo?

Which roster do you think will be most effective on Olympic ice?

I just didn't put him there because i think the other guys are better defensively. I don't think theres a tougher team to pick the D for than the USA. After Sutter, McD and Yandle you have about 7 other guys that are capable of taking those last 3 spots. I think E. Johnson makes it as the fourth then it's a toss between JJ, Carlson, Bogo, Fowler, Orpik, Martin, Buff and Shattenkirk for those last 2. You could basically ice two sets of D with very equivalent skill levels.

Canada has the better NHL defence but the Swedes have much more experience on international sized rinks...

Canada legitimately blows all the others out of the water in terms of 'top end quality'. They flat out have more of the BEST defencemen in the NHL to work with.

The real question is...how will Canada put it all together when so many of their best defenceman are all RH shots. That's the ONLY weakness with the Canadian blueline...and it is a significant one.

There´s some interesting youngsters in Sweden for sure. In four years this may be debatle. Now, on paper, it´s Canada by far.

Canada quite clearly.

Sweden ever more clearly ahead of the US.

Canada, but Eriksson is kind of an x factor. Probably the best defencemen in the world and could tilt the argument in Sweden's favour in the Olympics if he plays his best.

Canada AINEC.

Canada's top 4 are all World-class, elite defensemen. Sweden has two of those (OEL and Karlsson), and USA has Suter. Canada also has the best bottom pairing.

I think on international ice it will be Sweden.

OEL - Karlsson
Kronwall - Edler
Brodin - Hedman

Suter-Carlson
McDonagh-Shattenkirk
Yandle-Bogosian
Fowler-E.Johnson

Is not comparable to
Keith-Weber
Pietrangelo-P.K Subban
Staal-Letang

Then you got Sweden who is no.2

OEL-Karlsson
Hedman-Hjalmarsson
Kronwall-Edler/Stralman

Which is a shame. Would have loved to see:

Lost all respect for Enström tbh.

Canada but I think that in the Sochi Sweden's defense will be much more effective.
