Man, RDS is ignoring this news all the way on all their platforms while TVA Sports is talking about NOTHING but this.

Its probably the case. I do have the same deal with TSN, but with RDS on videotron, Bell want to get you two channels with RDS and RDS2, and you cannot choose them seperatly. You are forced to choose RDS2 if you pick RDS.
yeah with Bell.

Don't know why TVA does that, because they are only waiting for a team to come in Qc... Why broadcast Habs games?

They have TVA and TVA sports and are planning for TVA Sports 2.

Having Habs and the possibility of Nordiques games is a HUGE thing to have.

maybe, and possibly the multi-platform they possess. But really, it's the cash they like

btw, the thread says internet deal with Rogers. What does that involve? Online streaming games if you're subscribed to their channel? gamecenter but for Canada?

I was thinking about this... how about PKP gets a team and makes RDS pay to air the games?

But they are planning on TVAS-2, so they would have enough room for both.

It's just that, now they have the Habs, the Nords would be their secondary brand...

The salary cap is based on a percentage of revenue so if the league makes more money then yes the cap will go up.

RDS had the WCW back in the days never really know why WWE didn't appeared on RDS. It was showing WWE in 1998 if I remember correctly.

Having Habs game will get them tons of subscribers all around the province. Besides there is no garantee that Quebec will get a team anytime soon

Ill have to either buy a terminal or kill my parents to watch the game on the only terminal of the house.
You can get the 2nd terminal for free btw. I did.

Just call them (or your parents) and negociate. I dropped my monthly fee big time doing that, basically letting Videotron and Bell drop their prices until I was satisfied.

I did that with Videotron 6 months ago or so and last week, I called Bell for prices and will get a 10$ drop off what I pay from Videotron.

I'm switching to Bell next week (with more channels on tv and also better internet).

Just negociate. It does work.

I wouldn't take the line 'TSN was shut out ' as anything more than they failed to secure a piece of the package. They probably were strong bidders.

That 5.2B is a big number , In the end they probably either didn't want to play nice with HNIC or felt the money was too much for a product that competes with its CTV prime time American television programming which they also pay huge dollars to broadcast.
