Fiset was more then done 3 years ago, why not find Fichaud?

I think it would help Danis to be in the NHL for a couple months. Even if he only plays 5-10 games, he'll get coaching every day.

I'm just worried that if that happens, he may have a tough time taking back the starting position in Hamilton because the goalie that has taken over the starting job could possibly expect to keep it

Then tough teats for that goalie. He'll do as he's told.

I actually like the idea of Danis with the habs for a bit. I like it when our goaltending prospects get to work with Rollie Melanson, who I'm going to declare in an extremely uninformed fashion amongst the best goaltending coaches in the world. He'd get to practice and train with Rollie, even if he isn't getting lots of starts, then he goes back to the AHL with a little NHL experience and a couple months of solid coaching. He'll still get loads of starts in the AHL as the year goes on.

If I'm not mistaken he's already worked a bit with Rollie!

When I start seeing the names Fiset and Fichaud in a thread, I get the nasty shakes all over and start crying.

Yeah, he did all last year, IIRC. Doesn't mean that more won't help

I, for one, find this hard to believe
if i recall correctly, he splited time with cechmanek and almost got his spot if he actualy didn't at the season's ending.

Me I would give young Danis a chance. I saw him play last year with the Bulldog and he's ready to be a back-up for theodore!!!!!

Should be many UFA goalies available if Huet is out. That's if they don't go with Danis

I was under the impression that Cechmanek missed about 20 games or so due to injury, that's why Huet played so much near the season's end

He was 12-2 his first year, 16-6 his second. He flops like Hasek....so what? Hasek was the dominant goalie in the league for a 5-year-spell, Prusek comes from his country, why wouldn't he emulate his style to a certain extent...it certainly worked.

If the Habs can pick him up cheap I say get him.
Because you can't clone a freak. Prusek was not consistent. His stats don't say the story. He played behind the best defensive system and one of the, if not THE best defensive corps in the league. The guy is inconsistent.

There are much better solutions out there for a backup job. Guys with experience, who don't care about playing 15 games a season or so.

Did an Ottawa Sun rumor ever appeared to be truth?

Why would anyone trade for a backup unless they thought they could possibly be more? Especially in the off-season. I understand making a trade mid-season so that you get a goalie in shape if you're short due to an injury or a guy under-preforming, but in the off-season there are so many backups available via free agency that it's just silly to trade for one.

Prusek won't unseat Theo. There's no point in acquiring him for half a season and having to give up assets to do so.
