I predict

1) Lots of stick waving and standing around in our own zone
2) -1 for top line
3) Best players will be Fehr and Grabo
4) We will be outshot

Buffalo actually has pretty good defense and goaltending considering their record. Especially when you consider how ridiculous defensive prospects they still have not even playing yet in the NHL (Ristolainen, Zadorov, McCabe, McNabb).

Their forward core right now are by far the worst in the NHL, but i can still see them outshooting Capitals.

Why indeed. 90% of that guy's posts have some kind of dig at us and the fans. You can set your watch by it.

The Caps just don't travel well against some teams. In the East, under GMGM after the Cup Finals period, it seems to be Buffalo. Deal with it, tx.

Which likely means Holtby tomorrow.

And depending on how these two games go, who knows for the next game.

I'm hoping we can hold them to under 30 shots and not get embarrassed.

bitter? not remotely. rids, I am a happy guy. we have been having a steady conversation about how badly this team sucks. pretty much after every game, win or lose. most recently after a win.

so, we have a post saying don't we always suck against buffalo. yes, we always suck against buffalo but honesty what makes that different from any other game this season?

there are what? 3 of us on this forum that are not on the hangman's squad. who don't think the caps stink.

where do I say I am content with midpack hockey? ive seen their record since November 1 and its not mid pack hockey. except the argument is that the record doesn't reflect how bad the team really is.

rids, what is that you want? you want everyone to see it like you do or we are bitter? ok.

Your vitriol toward fans who disagree with YOU is obvious. If you choose to nitpick the word "bitter" and disagree on that too, whatever. Your behavior is consistent and always contains an attack on posters and fans.

Why do you think this is OK?

As for Buffalo and your question as to why it's different, it's judged the same way any team in any sport judges performance. If you have trouble in a certain arena even when your team is supposed to be better than the other team, that stands out. It's not complicated.

But your thin-skin regarding ANYTHING you perceive to be negative is blinding you to even basic sports talk, so you attack the messenger. You can't control yourself anymore.

Seeing how I'm not in a position to coach the team as a fan there's not much you can do but hope. And I don't see why you're throwing a random slight at Hunter, he got us as far as Bruce ever did in the post season, yeah?

not intended as slight, just pragmatic. if something doesn't work, change it. that's why i have a hard time watching 5on5 Caps hockey this season.

That's a bit over dramatic. I see most of you guys attacking him most days, not the other way around.

Some of what he says about the "fans" expectations and views are right on. There's a decent segment of posters here who will complain about a loss and complain about a win if it's a shootout or isn't a dominant 5v5 performance. Can't please some of em no matter what. That he chooses to be over the top in some of his responses is clearly his style (see The Caps suck, "so why not trade 8 & 19 for more well rounded players") to poke fun at the absurdity of the original idea.

4-2 Caps, Ovy with 2. Let the 5v5 mediocrity continue!

I approve this message. Let it come to fruition.

I disagree about Hunter hockey. I didn't enjoy watching it. But like it or hate it, it was certainly a plan. And it got us farther than expected. And as far as BB ever did.

Sabres have been playing better lately. This isn't a gimme by any stretch.

It's fun watching collective Canadian angst about their WJC team, by the way. Benching McDavid for 3rd and OT but then picking him for shootout was one of the stranger coaching decisions I've seen. I think all those Sutters took too many hits to the head (plenty of them administered by Caps #32, not to mention the legendary Scott Stevens).

But i digress.

Screw the Sabres. Let's win big.
