Love it, great win. Good for Bryz!

Where was Bryz for the first 20 games pissed away with the worst goaltending in the league? It's too late to salvage this season.

I feel like all the kids do. I fondly remember a game where Nuge made Weber (or Suter, or both) look real bad a couple times.

We should sign Bryz tonight to a 9 year contract with a 5.5 million dollar cap hit.

I really do hope that if he has a great season, and is comfortable living in Edmonton that he stays around for a few more seasons, but I just don't see it happening.

Grats to Ilya on the shutout.
Bryz could have just been focusing on doing well for the team and getting a start before him designing a helmet. He could be waiting to think of something great before covering it with crap.

What can you say about Byrz? If MacT signed him instead of Labarbera would we in the playoff mix right now?
Possibly, but I'm doubtful that Bryz would have entertained the thought of signing with the Oilers at the time. I'm thinking we were 'Plan Z' after Plans A to Y fell through for him.

Regardless, we reap the benefits for at least one night.

That doesn't mean anything. He has all white gear because he didn't know where he was going to wind up.. he's had it since the summer. It takes a while to get a mask painted too. When Roloson was traded here it took almost three weeks until he got his Oilers mask.

Gene said he'll be wearing Oilers colours next week.

I was saying it since the summer, Mac T should've signed Bryzgalov then. Oh well.

To be honest, I've wanted him as an Oiler since 2006 when he played really well against the Flames in round 1 of the Ducks-Flames series that year. I was hoping he was part of the Pronger return.

Eberle and Hall were strong tonight, that 4th line of Joensuu-Arco-Jones looks like a keeper.

Still a few too many blown defensive coverages though -- Fisher got two point blank chances in the 3rd. We gotta work on that.

I know a lot of people want Arco on 2nd or 3rd line centre, but I would be really interested in seeing him centre the 4th line with Joensuu and Pitlick when he's back. He fits in pretty well with a couple of big body's that can skate, bang and chip in some offence imo.

really makes you wonder. they weren't going to win the cup, but man, if they just had a real goalie for the first month, who knows.

if they can go .550 the rest of the way that will go along way in winning the fans back. they haven't won me back yet.

I thought our fourth line looked good tonight. Can't remember the last time we ran a 4th line full of actual hockey players.

Hard to say for sure, but I think we'd certainly be in the mix.

Four wins in the last five games. Gotta keep this pace up. Keep it going, boys! We have a real-life NHL goalie now! :O
Let's see what this team can really do.

Oh, I missed gene saying that, my bad there. And you're right, it is extremely early, but I'm still pessimistic.

I dunno how long it takes to get new gear made up but maybe thats why he's still in the generic stuff?

The biggest thing I saw from Bryzgalov tonight? No momentum sapping goals. I know that's obvious because he got a shutout, but you didn't have that "fear" a goal was going to go in. I think the Oilers may have found a guy that the Flyers gave up on too quick.

I really liked the team's game tonight.

Not going to worry about Bryzgalov's white mask unless he's still wearing it in February. I think Bryz and Dubby are a pretty solid 1/2 punch and I hope Bryzgalov considers resigning here because we were the only team (we assume) to give him a serious NHL offer.

edit: thats nice to read the post below mine. still hope he signs next year! That or I guess they'll spend a boatload on Hiller or trade a valuable asset to get another goalie. I prefer Bryz

So dreadful

His KIDS are designing his new mask, hence the white mask.

You need to do even a modicum of research before you make suggestions like you have. Geez.
