THN: Sharks-Kings are best rivalry in NHL

http://www.thehockeynews.com/article...lry-today.html

"The NHL will always have its attractive staple rivalries - Habs-Leafs, Devils-Rangers, Penguins-Flyers, Oilers-Flames, etc. - but Kings-Sharks might be the best one today. It has everything and has become a must-see game for every hockey fan. Here are five reasons why the Kings-Sharks rivalry is the very best rivalry today"

Damn straight it is. I look forward to these games just as much as I did ones against the Wings.

One of the best, and I've thought that for years.

Oh, please. Every combination of two eastern conference teams + the Blackhawks is a better rivalry than Sharks/Kings.

Almost always feels like a playoff game ... don't think it's the best, however.

I still think Detroit/Chicago might be the best rivalry in Hockey but that was an exciting game last night, as well as that playoff series earlier this year.

Believe that both teams bring the best out of each other, which is the main point of a rivalry. They also have history. Sure we all hate the Canucks but it's not usually a contest.

Its had a bit of everything as well. From hits to fights to overtime playoff goals and the infamous "clowegate".

I think this is the best way to define a rivalry. Usually when I hear the word Rivalry, it's teams and fans who have absolute disdain for each other, and when you think of it that way, it can go a little too far. Rivalries are competitive, fun, equally matched games where you know going in it's going to be a great game. I guess I just don't like the attitude of if you're a fan of one team, you have to hate the other team with a passion, because I don't hate the Kings. I enjoy watching them play, and the games between SJ and LA are always fun and competitive.

As a Kings fan, I love the rivalry and I am glad the rest of hockey ifs starting to take notice.

Until next time...

And happy Thanksgiving NoCal!

I think of that and time JT was spinning on our center ice in the playoffs a few years back. Hitting you guys back was probably more satisfying last year than the other series we played. So yeah, good rivalry.

Also, the back and forth with the fanbase is fun with all the dancing giffs.

Glad to see it getting some recognition. It really should have been us facing them in the outdoor game, from a hockey and a business perspective.

Wings. I enjoyed our rivalry with the Wings because I had tons of respect for them (minus Kronwall).

While the Kings employ Jarret Stoll and Dan Carcillo and Mike Richards, I can't have respect for them. Doesn't mean we can't have a great rivalry (like the Ducks and Canucks), but I just don't enjoy it as much as I did the Wings. And I'm sure Kings fans feel the same about us and Raffi.

Kings fans were cool in the first dance-off, but since they won the Cup they default to the "Well how many Cups have you won!!?1!1" answer to every argument which I have absolutely no respect for.

Other way around. Thornton picked his spot there, but it was entertaining.
