Help a brother out

Any draft talk in the french papers (La Presse and the Journal de MTL) this morning? Is it worth it to run to the depanneur to buy them?

Is it just me or has the draft coverage been completely lousy in the local media? you'd think there would be a bit more coverage when the home team snags a top 5 pick.

Can't answer your question about the journal. But my guess for the lack of coverage is because they(the journalist) have no clue of these guys. They don't follow anyone outside of quebec so they can't really comment on anyone. As far as I'm concern, they probably have Latendresse, Bourret and Bourdon in the top 5. You're best guess would be to stick with HF and TSN.

To be fair, M.Brunet from Lapresse will propably have 1 or 2 solid article on Friday.

Bad assertion. Marc Lachapelle knows his junior hockey stuff. He's got only one equal in English Canada, and it's Bob McKenzie. Other than that, he's IT.

Right now, they HAVE to talk about the FINA which are held in Montreal. As soon as this is over, the hockey mania will be back.

Yesterday's and today's LaPresse had a breakdown of the teams. Nothing very in-depth. They had Brisebois comments and the lastest rumours that were previously discussed on the hfboards ... not worth getting in my opinion.

will there be a Hockey News Draft Edition? is it already out? when will their Annual Edition come out?

That ends sunday no? I mean can't they at least give us a page or two on the draft?

Thanks to those who answered!

To be honest, the draft has never been the hottest ticket in town news-wise in Montreal. They write about it, sure, they have about 1-2 pages on reactions before and after. But they tend to be generalists, because the beat writers know very few details about these kids. Marc Lachapelle will be valuable to Le Journal. At La Presse, they have nobody specialised in junior hockey, so don't bother.
