Sat., Nov. 30, 2013| Flyers 3 at Predators 2 (1-0 SO)

OFFICIAL THREE STARS:
  1. Lecavalier
  2. Colin Wilson
  3. Couturier

------------------------------------------
http://www.nhl.com/gamecenter/en/rec...d=nhl:topheads

Quote:
Vincent Lecavalier scored the only goal of the shootout to give the Philadelphia Flyers a 3-2 victory against the Nashville Predators on Saturday night.

Lecavalier deked goaltender Marek Mazanec and beat him with a wrist shot in Philadelphia's first attempt. Goaltender Steve Mason stopped Craig Smith before Lecavalier's attempt and made a sprawling stop on Matt Hendricks' backhander in the second round. Matt Cullen, Nashville's third shooter, fired wide to end the game.

Nashville (13-11-3) broke a 1-1 tie 5:05 into the third period when Colin Wilson bulled his way past Jakub Voracek and chased down a dump pass by Gabriel Bourque, then put a backhander from the right circle through Mason's legs. But Philadelphia (12-12-2) got even at 13:07 when Sean Couturier was left all alone near the right post and snapped home a cross-slot pass by Andrej Meszaros. It was Couturier's third goal of the season and his second in as many days.

What an incredible feeling to finally have a reason to be yelling the goalie's name as the opposing player moves in

Voracek looks more like Ville Leino every game.
At least Giroux had some nice shots
Love Koots

Scratched an ugly one out on the road. I'll take it, but remain unimpressed by the effort for most of the game.

People are gonna think I'm a party pooper or overly negative or whatever, but I try to be realistic about things.

When the season started it felt like a one man team with Mason now it just feels like a two man team with Mason and Couturier. I love that they're both capable of carrying a team and possibly breaking out and they're my two favorite players right now, but you can't get anywhere in this league by doing that. Nashville was also destroyed by injuries and felt like they outplayed us despite not having their two best players plus some depth guys out. I mean, outside of Josi and Jones their D was mostly no-names and depth callups and their best forward on paper is Mike Fisher probably.

Mason and Couturier are awesome. So I'll just end it with that. Wish those guys would get some recognition outside of Philly.

Unbelievable: Mason

Good: Couturier, Giroux, Mez's pass to Coots, we actually won a shootout

Bad: Only scoring 2 goals against the Preds without Rinne and Weber.

Ugly: The effort, lucky to get 2 points.

A win's a win, on to the next one!

I'm happy that we won, but not happy about the win. Like many have said, poor effort throughout, and Mez bailed u out with a great play. That in all likelihood won't happen again. Mason let in 2 not so good ones, but bailed us out at the end of the game. Giroux looked good tonight, his linemates, not so much. But at least Hartsy made a few good plays near the end. Now we just need the Eagles to win tomorrow!

Masons GIF reel this year is unbelievable. (someone needs to do one!)

There have been like 10-15 where I honestly thought the puck had no where to go but in.

The save vs Carolina stands out... that was absurd.
