Edm - phi

Simmonds
Read
Coburn
Grossmann

Yakupov

Edmonton gets a good, big winger who is physical and a second line scoring forward. Also two big defenseman to "welcome" guys like Nurse and Klefbom when they come in.

Philadelphia does this because they get a yound winger with 40 goal potential.

Oilers can not do it unless they send two more contracts back-- they are at 49 contracts. Will be interesting when Flyer fan wake up, see this-- what is the over under of this making it to 50 post before a lock or warning added to it? The debate will be about the here and now vs the potential of the players involved. SHot in the dark--flyer fans wont be happy

Big overpayment in my eyes for Yakupov...

Did you mean to say Hall?

Simmonds = top line power forward
Read = 2nd/3rd line forward
Coburn = Top 4 D
Grossman = Top 4 D
2nd rd pick.

I know he's a recent first overall selection, but that is still overpayment in my opinon.

Not enough goin to the Oilers.

Give them Mason and Couturier too, and call it a day.

Simmonds = middle 6 forward
Read = top 6 forward
Coburn = 2/3 dman
Grossman = 2nd pairing dman
2nd = 2nd

IMO you over valued Simmonds and under valued Read and Coburn. Either way, Yak has yet to prove he's worth even remotely close to this much. At MOST, with what he's shown to date, Yak would be LUCKY to return Simmonds + Coburn. I think that Edmonton would be adding to get that much. Honestly, his value would be closer to Simmonds + the 2nd without Read or Coburn being added.

I can understand Edmonton fans balking at that offer and I know that I certainly wouldn't accept that kind of return for him at this point but that's honestly where his actual trade value currently is at. It'sbbetter for Edmonton to just hold on to him at this point and hope he DOES become a prolific goal scorer rather than trade him for what he could return right now.

I'd LOVE to get him on the Flyers but you just can't justify paying that kind of price at this point in time.

I'm not opposed to moving Simmonds, but there is no way I'm moving Read he's way too important. He's so versatile. Can play on any line in the top 9, good Pker, plays on 2nd PP.

Same thing with Coburn, he plays all the tough minutes for Philly and they don't have a replacement for him currently. Coburn is the type of guy people like to hate on and then when he's gone you realize just how important he was to your team.

The cost of this proposal is too steep for Philly. It doesn't make them better now or in the future.

Gross overpayment by Philly. Completely guts the team and any depth. You can keep Yakupov.

You have every right to ask for an overpayment for a former #1 pick and you aren't even asking for Couturier/Schenn. That said, as good as Yakupov would be on Girouxs wing for the next 10-15 years can't replace two top 4 dmen and two top 6 wingers. This just crushes the Flyers depth.

Would you do this?

Sean Couturier

Jordan Eberle
David Perron
Jeff Petry
Nick Schultz
2014 2nd

That's just a silly proposal for Flyers.

No thanks from Oilers. Simmonds is not enough for Yakupov. We have no use for Read or any more bottom pairing d-men.

gritty Top 6 winger
a Top 6 winger who can play in any situation
Dman who can play on the top pairing
Top 4Dman who's a rock defensively

and they're all locked for at least the next 4years

you start with Hall if you want that package

That is the exact thinking that there management has. And the exact reason they are still a bottom 5 team when close to impossible with all their top 5 picks . Small and soft baby !

Yeah, because 5'9 Read would be adding size to our lineup?

Yeah focus on the 5'9 guy when other guys involved are 6'4, 6'5 and 6'2.

Read plays bigger than all of your top 6 forwards and Sinmonds brings in much needed grit. The proposal is a horrible overpayment.

Read would easily be your best all around player, and it would take some crazy overpayment to get him out of philly.
