Please help me escape from Toronto

I need to rant. I've been working here for 3 years now, and up until this point, I've been able to tolerate being surrounded by the Blue and White (I've maintained my allegiance to the Nux!).

But with the free agent frenzy coming up, I am about to explode. Everyday here, Leafs fans are saying Niedermayer's going to sign here, we're going to get Forsberg, Naslund and Kariya want to be here, Jason Allison will sign for 1 million cause he's from Toronto, Lindros will be our 3rd line centre, go sign Khabibulin, oh yeah Jeff O'Neill will be our first liner.

Ummm...excuse me, there's something called a salary cap? And if this is indeed the case, there'd be quite the comical lineup of NHL stars literally outside office doors of Ferguson Jr filling in job applications. Everyone wants to play for Toronto. It'd be hilarious that no one signs here, but I know it's more realistic that 2-3 UFA's signs here.

Here's a projected lineup if everyone came to Toronto, tongue in cheek of course.

Naslund-Forsberg-Sundin (all Swede)
Kariya-Allison-Tucker (three "head" cases)
LeClair-Lindros-Nolan, if he can't be bought out (all injury line)
Kondratiev-Antropov-O'Neill (the best fourth line out there)

Niedermayer-McCabe
Kaberle-Klee
Belak-Pilar

Belfour

because I left out a few words

It is silly season in TO and on many HK boards right now

all the idiots with either a bloated sense of how much players want to play for their team or a lack of understanding of just how hockey works at different levels

it is not just the TO fans that have lost track of their marbles--many teams have and I think many fasn will be scraching their heads right before the draft

I find it hilarious that with all the talk of everybody signing in Toronto for the minimum, they would still have Wade Belak on the blue line.

They should wake up and realize their team is in one of the worst shapes of any team after the new CBA
