I do not want to see him go but Forsberg is probably the one player would would ease the pain as I think he is perhaps the best forward in the NHL. As much as Markus loved playing with Bert, I cant imagine how excited he'd be lining up with Forsberg in Vancouver.
Why in god's name would we trade Bertuzzi who would be here for many years only to make room for Peter Forsberg who would be here for a year, two years MAXIMUM. That would be a huge mistake by Nonis.

I always followed the Canucks (I'm a Pens fan).
I think that this is a realistic scenario and one that would be awesome for you guys.

Burke might like Bertuzzi but lets be objective here. Burke just escaped from Bertuzzi-suspension hell and got a fresh start. Why on earth would he want to dredge up the bodies from the bottom of the river and take them with him to his new team. Bertuzzi he'll leave behind, he doesn't need bad press as he starts with his new team. Nor is it particularly helpful for Bertuzzi.

Totally agree. It has to be Naslund/Forsberg/Bertuzzi.

I'd see if there is a team out there that would trade you guys an elite goalie for Bert. With Forsberg there it's not like the Canucks would be missing out on Bert too much.

They would miss Bert for the 30 games that Forsberg would spend on IR. Don't get me wrong, Forsberg is invaluable, but only when in the lineup.

I agree that it wouldn't be as special, but Naslund-Forsberg-Pylon would be a very dangerous line.

Another possibility I could see Vancouver doing or trying is this.

- Bertuzzi to Boston for Joe Thornton
- Jovo and Player X to the Ducks for 2nd pick in the draft and R. Neidermyre
- Sign UFA Scott Neidermyre for arround 6 Million
- Sign Paul Kariya for 2.5 Million with perfomance bonus package
- Sign Sellanne for 1.5 Million with perfomance bonus package

Sellanne(1.5) - Thornton (6) - Kariya(2.5)
Sedin(1.75) - Morrison(2.7) - Sedin(1.75)
Cooke(1) - Neidermayer(1) - Linden (1.5)
King(.5) - Keslar(.5) - May(.75)

Spares - Chubarov(.45), Sarno (.45)

Niedermayer(6) - Ohlund (3)
Salo(1.5) - Sopel(1.5)
Jack Johnson(.9) - Malik(.5)

Spare - Baumgartner (.45)

Cloutier (2)
Auld (.5)

Total Payroll = 38.7 Million

I like pipedreams too. There's too much that has to happen for that, Nonis would have to have balls of steel to shake things up that much.
