Never been impressed with Hoffman, but he deserves one final look. He needs to make the most of it.

I'd think so. Knowing Maclean though, if Hoffman doesn't score 2 goals his first shift with Spezza he'll be demoted to 3 minutes a night on the 4th line

He's never been as good as he is right now though. He's always been developing. Late bloomer. Never got close to ppg in the AHL til this year, no wonder you weren't impressed.

Has to be a precursor to another move. Boro deserves to play, albeit not because he's been spectacular, but because the other Dmen playing in front of him have been complete crap.

9 more games and Gryba is no longer Waiver expempt, that's got to make you happy.

While I agree, I can't imagine Murray was too thrilled that this move came at the expense of boro and grant being sent down.

I'd like to see a few of the under achievers get waived

This is the one I agree with. Z-bad and Conacher have shown chemistry in the past. They're also best buds.

He could have sent down Gryba. He only makes 100k in the AHL.

Cowen is still waiver exempt, although with our cheap ass owner, obviously it would never happen. I also couldn't imagine how cown would react to being sent down considering he was pouting and crying about having to play in the AHL during the lockout.

GOLDEN !!!!!!
This is my ideal scenario as well. Spezza getting less ice time and let the kid line loose. With next game vs Florida it would be a great time , get the kids some confidence with early success and hopefully piss spezza off so he goes into beast mode and forces mac to give him the ice time.

I know its early, but this team needs some Ceci. Definitely fills our biggest hole right now. And yeah I know it's not a good idea to rush him into the league.

Hoffman - Spezza - Michalek
MacArthur - Turris - Ryan
Greening - Zibanejad - Condra
Scrub - Scrub - Conacher

No he isn't. The 1 game he played at the end of the 09/10 season gives him 3 seasons in the NHL and he is no longer exempt.

What's the point though? He's not going to come in and play more than 13 mins. And he won't be enough of a difference maker at this point. Let him stay in Bingo and play 20+ mins, keep developing under Luke and racking up the points. I think that is the best scenario for him. This team would just kill any confidence he's built.

This is what i wanna see for a few games or so.

MacArthur-Spezza-Ryan
Zibby-Turris-Hoffman
Michalek-Pageau-Condra
Conacher-Smith-Neil

If Turris is so good he should be able to make the players around him better and Greening can go play with the minors for now.

Has nothing to do with his 3 seasons and no longer being under his ELC. It's total games played in a certain amount of season. If he plays, I think, 14 more games this year he will no longer be exempt.

Edit: did the calculation on capgeek. http://www.capgeek.com/waiver-calcul...133&Calculate=

if Ceci gets called up this year, his development would be negatively impacted, the dude is playing 20+ minutes a night in bingo, and is great offensively, hes not ready to face NHL competition though, but if he keeps doing what he is doing in bingo for the whole season, he is going to be a #2/3 Defence men one that we would sorely need.

Grant played pretty well in his tenure up here.

Glad he got a fair shake.

I agree that calling up Ceci is a mistake. I'd rather see someone like Claesson.

Surprised by these moves. Not so much Hoffman but with Boro and Grant. I thought both Boro and Grant did well. Not spectacular, but good enough to stay up.

Wait, so Gryba is waiver exempt? Why hasn't he been sent down?

Hopefully they make room for Boro eventually.
