The cardinals have won pretty recently IIRC. Ummm, I'm going to guess Minnesota.

To be fair if we include states like Minnesota, Ohio would be worse. Cleveland, Cincinnatti, and Columbus have not won anything in a long while, none of which have four but collectively they have all four plus two extra.

Expecting a level win by the boys.
Yes. He's starting to skate before practices again but still no timetable on his return.

Also our likely lines for tonight:

Skinner - E. Staal (C) - Ruutu
Tlusty - J. Staal (A) - Dwyer
Gerbe - Nash - Lindholm
Bowman - Malhotra (A) - Dvorak

Sekera - Faulk
Hainsey - Bellemore
Harrison - Komisarek

Peters
Ward

Sekera is likely to be a game-time decision as he's just coming off an upper body injury

Not that hard.

I'd venture to say most of us are Cup or bust (whether the team is talented enough for it or not). Anytime it looks like the team is still far away from that goal, the bad memories return.
effectively you are saying you cant enjoy the caps until they are holding the cup in their hands. we all know having a lead in games in the ecf or the scf only creates valid fears of choking.

so...watching them play is torture.

if you cant have fun, why do it?

Orlov interviewed by NHL.com. In russian.

Basically said he has to do his best every single shift and has no choice. Mentioned nothing was promised to him.

I'm still waiting for hipchecks!

Yeah... forgot about that...

Orlov looked good to me, there is no way in hell should be sent back to minors, but then again its Capitals...

you completely missed the point of my post and judging off of what I've seen from your posts, I'm not getting into anything with you.

Oates said Orlov will be back in the lineup Tuesday night “unless something comes up.” He said the biggest reason Orlov was not in the lineup before Saturday night was the concussion he suffered last season and the strong play of rookie defenseman Nate Schmidt this season.

“He was hurt,” Oates said of Orlov. “He never had a chance to prove what he could do. Unfortunately, injuries are a part of the game and somebody has to play in your spot and if they play good, what are you going to do? It’s just part of the deal and it happens all over [the NHL] and we’ve all got to understand that.”

Sounds... reasonable, at least.

I really hope Gandler was speaking out of turn and Orlov stays. Gandler has to hate McPhee by now and I'm sure the feeling is mutual.

Ha. Well.

I'd like to see Brouwer get at least one. But Green really needs his first.

How many times do you have to get smacked in the face before it's ok to flinch? Operant conditioning. CAPS fans have been conditioned to high hopes at times only to have those hopes dashed mercilessly. That doesn't stop us from loving our team but it also doesn't mean uncertainty about whether our hopes will be dashed is very far away.

Until this team actually wins something in the post season, that probably won't change.
