Pretty ridiculous that Nuke is still stuck on the 4th line.

That 2nd line... Nichushkin on the 4th line... We're playing the Hawks. I have been a Ruff supporter but that is just horrible, to his defense he doesn't have much to work with, but Nichushkin on the 4th line? Our should-be 4th line is the 2nd line? Seems like Ruff goes ******* as fast as Tyler is out.

Those lines look awful.

Benn-Peverley-Nuke
Whitney-Eakin-Chiasson

That looks much better.

I guess that makes sense because Chicago isn't a big, rough team. They're more skilled, and to be them you have to emphasize puck movement and possession.

What's weird is that's pretty true of Edmonton as well ... so why not play him there.

I don't have a problem playing Oleksiak and Connauton based on game situation ... just seems EDM would be a game you'd want KConn in. Throw in Jamie for the Blues, Ducks, etc.

They could be doing a rotation as well until one separates from the other. Ruff seems to value acknowledging guys that play in games that have some extra meaning (Seguin/Pevs Boston; Chiasson Montreal) ... I think we'll see Jamie play next game regardless in front of family in Toronto.

What is going on with Nuke on the 4th line? Did he underperform, or is that just mind boggling decision by Ruff?

Btw, these lines look horrible.

Seriously, the venom you guys spit. That second line played better than most of the others lines in Edmonton.

Nuke is still a young player. Having him play protected minutes won't hurt him.

The thing is he really doesnt need the protected minutes. Good things happen when he is on the ice. Playing him with two guys who can't do crap offensively is a waste of his talent.

I don't think Nuke needs protected minutes and our "second" line is a bunch of 4th liners who had a hot streak and will cool off.

Nuke is playing his first season as a NHLer. He came into this league with questions of effort. He's already played half as many games as he did in the KHL.

I'd argue that they're not playing him with large amount of minutes because he's bad. It's because they want to ease him into the full season.

Too much Chicago. Give us some other teams. Preferably worse than the Oilers too.

No one else is scoring, especially Benn. What good would an already non-scoring rookie 18 year old who is still developing his scoring touch in the NHL getting 15-20 minutes do?

Give him limited, offensive zone minutes. Make him work hard those 8-10 minutes and not wear him out and hopefully as the season progresses he finds his touch and gets more minutes.
