COME ON. He played a terrible game. Probably the worst game in history for a guy who would end up scoring the GTG and the GWG.
Not many forwards had a good game today. Basically only Pleks,Gio and Briere were decent. The guys had no legs tonight and I'm afraid it will be really tough tomorrow with all the games they played in the last few days.

So anyway DD had a tough night as his line teammates but the fact is that he still scored 2 big goals.

It's a freaking crazy part of the schedule.

These people would have chosen not to look at the previous game

But then again, if they're stupid enough to say this, they'd also be stupid enough to ignore the previous game...

It's not just RDS' fault (though they tend to add their own flavor of exaggeration). Desharnais got the first star, and to me this is where narrative often triumphs over reality in hockey.

Desharnais had a bad game. He was a disaster in his own end. Of course it didn't help him that Gallagher played his worst game of the season and the defense was rather shaky.

Of course, he earned the right to have a bad game with how he has been playing lately. And he came up big in the clutch, even if the game tying goal was rather lucky. His shootout move was awesome.

Of course, the fact is that Eller deserves just as much credit - and Eller has been getting a lot more hate than DD lately, except among a few people who refuse to acknowledge anything good Desharnais does. And Eller had a bad game until the end too.

But this was really a team win. A lucky one, but there's no point in trying to look for a messiah when the top 3 lines all contributed in their own way. If anything Gionta, Plekanec, and until he was demoted, Briere, all deserve more credit than either DD or Eller.

Seriously apart from tonight the last time i posted in a gdt was the tampa game which we lost. When i left the gdt at 2-1 we won. I will not post in a gdt again.

I have cracked the code.

But in that case it's mostly funny.
He scored the tying goal and scored in the shoot out.

It would cynical to ***** about Subban's turnover as well, right?

How is it unfair when it is an actual thing that happened? Subban is my favourite player but let's all recognize he can sometimes make mistakes in important situations. No one is perfect and he's a young player.

He can do alot of things better than most of the Team Canada candidates but perhaps safety in the dying minutes isn't one of them. Even if he makes just 1 mistake, it's probably 1 more mistake than a guy like Keith would make in that situation.

Devils stifle our play. While the Bruins seal the boards and play a defensive style, its different. Not only does the energy never go away against Boston (especially in Montreal) but I find the bruins push more, and therefore are more likely to take penalties and rrade rushes. I expect a fun game.

I think the team will embrace the back to backs, and we have some fresh guys available (notably Price)

One thing I notice is how often forwards just dump it in when they see they have Emelin in front of them.

They don't even try to carry it by him. They're terrified of the hipcheck.

I think Eller needs a mustache, he'd be a PPG player.

Exactly, no player is perfect. Subban IMO is close to being the very best all around D in the league.

David Desharnais is helping us win games with timely production, and even in areas where we typically struggle horribly (i.e. the shootout). He's been doing it for a nice stretch now. It's time for his bigger critics on this board to let it go for now. He bounced back from an absolutely horrible season start, even up to the point of the freaking Mayor of Montreal coming down hard on him.

His comeback right now is frankly a great story, and is helping our team win. The lovefest is deserved.

Which is why a Emelin-Subban pairing would be phoquing awesome.

Can't skate in on Subban's side, too afraid to try on Emelin's side.
