+1 for Jones. That's it really. Unless it's some crazy package like 1st + Hornqvist + Klein.

But seriously, if a deal could be made around Jones and Zibanejad , with the Sens throwing in a good piece, such as Wiercioch or a good forward prospect then Murray would make the deal. Another possibility is of course, Weber. The Sen's would need to send Michalek along because of money reason's, but with Nashville unlikely to be a cup contender in the next few years, if the Sens were willing to part with the assets necessary, it could be a real possibility (HF world of course). Something like this is what I was thinking from a Sen's fan POV:

Michalek
Zibanejad
Wiercioch
Prince/Puempel

In this deal, Nashville gets a top 6 winger that they would likely be able to keep at decent price in Michalek, a potential top line center, a young PMD with top 4 potential, and a prospect with top 6 potential.

To Nashville:
Turris
Zibanejad
Wiercioch
Lazar/2015 1st
Lindberg

To Ottawa:
Weber

Terrible for the Sens. Is Weber gonna be OK on the 2nd pairing? I dont think he would want that.

Do you really think the gap in value between Zibanejad and Forsberg is Josi?

Amirite?
No not really.

As for the posters wanting Jones, not a lot of people are familiar with just how high David Poile is on Jones. Seth Jones was literally on the top of the Preds draft board, and Poile has stated that even had they traded for the 1st overall pick he would have selected Jones. Since the kid has shown he can handle top four minutes, even top pairing minutes, the cost to get him is astronomical. I think Poile would sooner trade Josi, though right now isn't the best time to ask for a top four defender IMO. We need Ekholm to continue improving first.

I was thinking more as a basis for a deal. Something could be added to Zibanejad, but he holds more value than either of those players IMO.

If its not Jones, i'd rather not trade Zibby. Stupid to trade him for quarters.

Jones to the sens just can't happen, no way the sens would want to give up what they would have to in order to acquire him

I think the addition to Zib would end up pissing off Sens fans if Poile were to accept a deal like that right now. In a year or two? Maybe. But right now Klein is our second most experienced defenseman, he is on a great contract and he is a very good second pairing defenseman. The guy anchors our shutdown pair, and has done an exceptional job of doing that for a while now. He has a ton of value to the Preds.

If I were starting a team, I would prefer Jones over Mika every day of the week. Kid is a great player, not saying Zibby isn't, but Jones holds more value IMHO. A lot more too.

Wonder what Ottawa fans think of this deal I mentioned earlier?
Gives Ottawa our 1st this year(which will be a decent pick, could be great), a really good second pair RHD and a young Right handed C/RW who is tied for second on our team for points.

Zibby + for Weber/Jones. Nothing else makes any kind of sense for Ottawa, but I'm sure we could throw together a nice package for Klein if he became available at all. I realize that's far fetched, and that it won't happen, but it's what Ottawa counters with, imo.

So...like Zbad, Cowen and Ceci? For Jones?

What about Zibanejad for Klein and Forsberg? Or something along those lines?

It isn't that I think the value is terrible or anything, but I don't think I would do this trade. Right now I'm very much against giving up veteran blueliners, especially one as steady defensively as Klein, for much of anything. Honestly, I'm opposed to trading anything more than bottom six guys for picks and prospects at the moment. I'm just not seeing many ways to fix holes through trades without opening up new, potentially huge ones.

I think we Preds fans need to face the fact that our team has been pretty good for a while. A lot of teams don't have the success this team has had since the 2004 lock out, albeit without much to show for it in the playoffs. We are due for some down years, and if management handles it right we can rebound fairly quickly while still having a solid core.

Its just simply does nothing for the Sens. That trade would be hugely regretful for the Sens. Zibby is gonna be a beast.

How are we going to do this without trading someone with some value to other teams not just our bottom six?

Might be easier to get a defenseman during free agency than forwards has been seeing how next years defensive class looks to be pretty good but who knows.

Bottom line is we need help in our top six and I would like to see players like Zibanejad be the players added to help out. We need Young offensive minded players on here and we need to suck for a year or two to get those elite top draft picks that can change our team.
