Awesome news. The more options Sutter has, the better.

Yeah. I'd be really sad if Vey gets sent down. He's been amazing.

Yep - sounds likely to me. I think the team is ultimately going to move Stoll at some point and slot Vey into that spot. We'll see what happens, though. Pearson should be ready in a year.

I was wishing that LA was playing Fraser the last couple games to "show case" him for futures. But then I thought about Fraser and show case is an oxymoron, like jumbo shrimp.

I'm thinking Fraser gets moved before Stoll, but the bottom line is someone will most likely get moved by the trade deadline.

Awesome news! Nice to have both of them back in the lineup. Really glad I was wrong with thinking Greene would miss most of the season.

Doesn't matter. He's injury prone and will be gone at the end of the year. Haven't you heard?!?!

Could be. Stoll actually looked better when paired with Brown and Williams. You know he still has the offensive upside. Maybe Vey would work on the 4th line if you stick him with a couple bigger guys...he's actually been an effective penalty killer.

I wonder how Vey would do between Brown and Williams?
King/Kopi/Carter
Brown/Vey/Williams
Nolan/Richards/Toffoli
Clifford/Stoll/Lewis or Carcillo

i've supported and liked Lewis' play, but over this stretch honestly....i forgot he was out of the line up.

did they truly miss him? did his absence lead to downfall in the team's play? did areas of play such as the PK negatively take a dip?

to me i would say no. i think we saw guys step up and fill his role without any negative consequeneces.

if it means keeping Lewis or Vey, man at this point i honestly would like to see Vey over Lewis. DL has some thinking to do

I posted about the absence of Lewis in another thread.

I agree, the team didn't really miss him, and he is a glaring hole on the offensive side of the puck.

Lombardi has some decisions to make indeed.

Lewis defensive game is not out weighing his total lack of production. The Kings can't afford to have players like him in the lineup eating 14 to 17 minutes a night, if they want to beat teams like the Hawks.

Even Stoll is on pace for 25 or 30 points.....Lewis is on pace for ZERO.

Lewis/Clifford are nice pieces to move come deadline day.

Someone would take a chance on those guys ESP Clifford (age ETC)

the Hawks are the one team that concerns me. the guppies to a lesser extent. LA does not match up well against CHI's speed and transition game. the Hawks destroyed LA last season and made LA look very average. against the likes of STL, ANH and SJ we all know how those games will play out. LA matches up well against those three and i don't think lack of offensive skill plays into the equation quite as much. SJ always concerns me because i think they have a very well rounded roster from front to back, similar in size to LA, but with a bit more top end talent and overall a bit more offensive talent.

to keep up with CHI and SJ i think DL has to keep looking to upgrade the top end talent (LW hole) and overall talent of the entire roster (3rd & 4th lines). he needs to give Sutter more tools in the toolbox to work with.

i love Lewis' attitude and dedication, but ZERO production just can't cut it. not when a kid like Vey has come and played a handful of games and already out produced him. the team kept winning and the PK still kept clicking. if anything the one negative factor is it meant that some top end guys played some additional PK time.

it comes down to Fraser, Lewis and Vey at the #4C spot. imo Vey is the future and brings the best overall solution to the #4C position. that leaves Lewis at the #4RW spot against Nolan. he certainly isn't going to be able to match what Nolan brings into the line up and if Fraser (possibly Clifford and Carbomb) aren't in the line up then Nolan has to that sandpaper/protection.
