So you're incapable of reading the word "Cap" in the title, then?

Chicago can resign both Toews and Kane on twin contracts for 8.5-9m x 8 years. I think they get that type of deal in the offseason.

Stamkos will get 10m or better because he is in the category closest to Crosby, Malkin & Ovechkin. I00 Pts a season or 50G a season players

Toews, Kane, Getzlaf, Perry, Kesel are guys just below top dollar guys. closer to 40G a season 80-95Pts players

Tampa was willing to take the bill to buyout Vinny, so I think their owner is willing to shell out whatever it costs to bring Stamkos back.

I'm thinking you're looking at $9M for Toews and $9.5M to $10M for Kane.

It's pretty obvious OP is talking about average yearly salary (cap hit), in a salary cap world.

In any case baseball is laughing at us.

Edit - and i'll go with Stamkos much like everyone else.

I definitely think the first guy could be Stamkos.

Gonna go against the grain and say with the cap going up, it'll probably happen before Stamkos. Some UFA whose changing teams. Toews will re-sign with Chicago. The cap would have to go up a lot more (way above 70m) for Toews to be a 10m player and he'll probs re-sign this summer for 8.x. If Kane hits UFA, it might be him, but he likely won't.

Stamkos is first name to come to mind for me.

I think Kane and Toews take about 8.5 each to stay in Chicago.

My guess is Stammer in 4 years, even if he resigns w/ Tampa. Cap's going up up up.

twin deals likely 9m x8= 72 million

I was thinking Toews was the one that could get 500,000 a season more. Patrick Kane is hot at the moment and could have his first 100 point season for Chicago. If Kane breaks a 100 points then Kane would pass Toews and probably be 9.5

The cap will be pushing towards $100m before this CBA expires, so don't be surprised to see guys getting deals upwards of $12-13m in a couple of years.

Stamkos is a good bet to be the first over $10m.

Tavares may won't get his 10 mil before Stamkos, but when he is due, JT will be 10 +. Partly because of the current bargain deal he has, 6mil a year (5.5 cap hit) through 2017.

<21 year old PPG player>'s long-term RFA contract will always look magnificent in the second half, especially with league revenue growth.

If the cap is above $80M next season as some have speculated...

Then pretty much the first Top 20 NHL player who hits UFA. When Corey Perry got what he got, that opened the door for Kane to get more. Thing is, I doubt anyone resigning with their team will get more than Malkin, Crosby and Ovechkin. But in UFA it only takes one team...

I was basing that estimate more on personality than performance.

I can see Chicago asking both to take $9M with Toews saying yes and Kane pushing for more.

What's so funny? The Rangers wouldn't be the only team making an offer to Kane if he ever became a group III in 2015.
