Did he sign or is it just an offer? I haven't found any sites saying he actually signed.

1.8 million seems excessively low for one of the best goalies in the league.

They only had to offer him the qualifying offer ($1.8M). They probably couldn't find common ground for a longer contract. You can't pay everyone $4M+ in the new nhl.

You're right. But I'm not sure he'll want to stay in Florida after that...

Roberto is a Habs next year. For sure. Let's not forget Vinny Lecavalier, and Joe Thornton aswell.

Don't care about the rules. All he wants is being a Habs.

I can't wait... in 7 years, Habs fan Sidney Crosby, Jack Jonhson and Gilbert Brule are all gonna sign with us.

Actually, they'll pay us just to play. Games will be free to watch and we will have a stanley cup every year.

I have to agree with this. I could live with Lecavalier but we start naming people like Selanne, Aucoin, Luongo, Crosby, Thornton, Forseberg, Neidermeyer, Zubov, Modanno and the whole Dalas team (cause of BG) it starts to get a little out of hand.

hmm, is it sarcasm or something else....like Leafitis!
Because we all know that mostly all of the players mentioned REALLY
want to play for Toronto!

Seriously, I too can see Vinny as a 'possibility'. I wonder what the maximum salary will be in 2012 when Sid's available....or will he sign for less to play for the Habs? Of course, he could still be comfortably holed up in Mario's mansion....
