If they couldnt get Homer to deal him when he was slumping last year, I dont see how he gets him to move him when hes been on fire. His value has never been higher, would be stupid for EDM to trade for him now.

Couturier would be a good add for the Oilers but unless the Oilers wanted to part with Oscar Klefblom and a 1st round pick Couturier is not going anywhere.

Defensively Gardiner looks like Larry Robinson compared to Schultz. I'd gather to guess Schultz' worth is as low as it's been right now. The oilers need to get him some help. I'm horribly disappointed in the way Eakins has coached this team. I thought he was a great fit but he's struggled.. in his defense, he's still learning how to deal with NHL Players and how to push their buttons. I'm not willing to give up on him yet. Hopefully Schultz also figures things out. And speaking of Larry Robinson.. He's exactly what coach needs to come in if Eakins doesn't work.

wow, that's a hefty price. Gotta overpay to get a young big center though. In no way is he worth Hall though.. That's laughable.

Realistically, what would it take? And by realistically I mean that Hall and RNH are off the table.
I'll pass and just keep him! HE's already a shut down center and now he just might be tapping into the offensive ability he has. Not unless someone overpays for him.

Quick question, who has more trade value, B.Schenn or Couturier?

Couturier was an 8th overall and his value has gone up since, considerably. He's going to be (already is) a hell of a player and it would take a gargantuan offer to make us trade him. Him and Giroux are our future. Nobody else is as important.

Couts by a lot. I don't see this trade happening at all. Oilers are not sending Hall back (rightfully so) so who would come back?

So would a Morgan Rielly/Brayden Schenn swap interest you? I actually value B.Schenn more, I think he has the higher ceiling.

there is no way couts is traded everyone on the team from the players to the owner knows how much valuable for us, so it would take alot

Couturier holds way more value than Schenn,
Schenn can put more points but couturier bring the whole package.

Ektard is right on this one.

What he leaving out though is there's 28 other teams interested in Couts.

I can't believe people actually visit this guys site.

As a Flyers fan, I would do that deal.

Best response ever.

This isn`t news, every team would be interested in Coutourier. Singling out the Oilers is probably Eklund`s choice because he`s had too many Leaf and Habs rumors lately, ha ha.

On the serious side, if discussing these two teams (Coutourier specifically), it would probably need to involve Gagner going back, simply because, unless Boyd Gordon is out longer term than we think, either Gagner or Coutourier would be our 4th line center. And that would be a waste of a quality player. I doubt Philly has much interest in Gagner right now.

The big question is, why do these rumors always have the Oilers going for more forwards, when we so sorely need more defensemen? Sounds like someone is fishing for hits to me.

I would also accept, the value is in your favor. But it's the least we can do since we completely won the JVR trade.

Everything you said is right, but it's not like Oilers management is very good. They lack D and G because they've largely ignored those parts of the team for the duration of their tenure. Wouldn't be surprising to see them continue to ignore it. I mean, they traded Smid for pretty much nothing already.

They haven't ignored D totally, they have been drafting defensemen quite well in the past couple of years. And before that, it was "best player available". As per Smid's trade, he wasn't playing well, and they got a goalie prospect they are very high on. Still a bad move, but "ignoring" is not the word I would use.

Trading Couturier for either Gardnier or Schultz would be bad for the Flyers.

Blows my mind that people think couts could return Hall, don't get me wrong couts is a very good young player but come on people.

I would offer a package of;

Klefbom + 2014 1st rounder + Gagner

for Couturier + Cobourn

But would totally understand if Philly declined.

Couturier would help the Oil I suppose, but don't they have a bigger need for a veteran forward or defenseman? Couturier seems like more of a luxury for them.

I don't think anyone said he could return Hall. What they were implying is that nothing short of Hall is intriguing enough to trade him, which is a different sentiment entirely.
