A little unrealistic for a kid playing his first year as a pro, no?

Not when you look at the lineup.

Sim-Umberger-Voce
Ready-Stafford-Ruzicka
Eager-Meloche-Kane
Grant-Gratton-Cote
Extras:Fedoruk (might not be with us if he can't make the big club).

Slaney-Cook
Meyer-Picard
Jones-Printz
Extras:Mormina (could force Printz down to Trenton if his play translates), Skonley might be thrown in the mix just to aggitate.

Little
Beauchemin
Extras: Houle, Bruckler

I'm not sure if this is exactly what we're going to see but it's pretty close. I made some assumptions like Umberger staying one more year for conditioning and Little returning to the Phantoms. This lineup could make the playoffs but Rosie is going to pick up alot of slack as far as scoring goes. We're going to have another team made up of pests and brutes and we could make a playoff push but I'm not counting on anything special.

I'm not sure if Sim will be back. I believe he is Phoenix's property. I'd like to see Eager on the top line. And was Ruzicka signed?

That lineup doesn't work because there are too many vets. The team can only have 5 vets in the lineup. Slaney, Kane, Sim, Ready, Stafford, Fedoruk and Meloche are all vets. Not to mention that Slaney would be the only experienced blueliner on the team.

Sim is an UFA and could be signed by the Phantoms but still be used as a sub.

I want to think that Fedoruk would be brought back but this CBA changes things. He doesn't contribute much at an AHL level special-teams wise and if he were to be a callup that would count against the Flyers. Basically since I don't see Brash being bought out any time soon then Fridge's time might be running out. You're right about the veteran rule though but someone might be loaned out or traded, I don't know exactly how the A works.

Little did sign that contract to go to Finland but there still is a possibility that he does come back.

Little's veteran status is irrelevant when it comes to the number of vets who can dress in a game.

Even though he has signed to play in Finland, it does not necessarily mean that is where he will end up. At the end of his last contract with the Flyers, he signed to play in Russia, only to be resigned by the Flyers before training camp. He may have signed to play in Finland this to ensure that he will play somewhere next season. It would not shock me if he is back in orange, purple and black next season as the organization holds him in very high regard and likes the way he helps mentor young goaltenders.

welcome reg

as we all know he is a very good young goalie. improved a lot.

as you are aware the pa raiders had a great playoff run. the team up front and the defense just hit everything that moved. they were a rough tough hitting machine.

and the other reason they had a great playoff run was having reggie in net.

the first time i met him was at a game in regina. we were sitting down by the pa bench, and he was sitting the bench that game. then 8 months later we drafted him. i was pretty pumped. he's got a lot of potential.

Agree with Eager has shown he can play a 3rd/4 line role and played pretty well when paired with some skill players. Needs to show if he can do it on a consistent basis

develop him and trade him... unless he surpasses Nitty and Esche, then trade one of them.
