I'm not shocked if that happens. There's a reason why the Avalanche win Cups, Lacroix knows how to win and he seems to always get it done.

Considering the AVS already have sakic Blake I think signing forsberg and naslund is gonna leave them about 11 mil to spend on the rest of there team so I doubt it. If the Avs planned on keeping forsberg they would not have said "we are building around sakic and blake."

Forsberg will only get 4-5 mil plus incentives cus he is so injury prone but naslund will get 6-7 so I dont think many teams have a chance at the pair.Maybe the blackhawks could sign em both if they could get them to stop laughing and hold a pen...

lets hope they both realize playing in toronto means more then just 2 mil per season it means 2 mill cash from leafs endorsement deals that are worth 10's of millions............not many cities can offer that!

Ottawa should worry about getting Houssa, Spezza and Havlat looked up. I hardly doubt Ottawa could afford Forsberg and Naslund with there speculated payroll unless they were going to Ottawa to play for peanuts.

I wonder if Mats supports the concept of profit sharing ..??

He calls up his buddies Nas $ Fors and says come be my wingers

All 3 of our paycheques get direct deposited into the same bank account ... and

at the end of the year we split it up ... 50/50 & 50

Much as I'd love to see these guys play for the Leafs this year, I just don't think it's going to happen. I'll be thrilled if it does, of course, but I think the cap is dictating the team goes in a different direction.

I am pretty sure 99% of Leaf fans here agree with you on that, and its the 1% left over as to the odds of it actually happening..

However until they officially sign in Colorado or Pittsburgh its the 1% that gives us hope to dream until we wake up to reality again ..

Unless Forsberg is willing to accept considerably lower than the maximum the Toronto Maple Leafs cannot afford him unless they find some way to unload Belfour's contract which of course would leave them without a goalie.

I do not expect to see Forsberg in a maple leaf uniform and the same can probably go for Naslund (whose defense of Bertuzzi was pretty disgusting).

I think we can resign ourselves to the fact that with Sundin here we're not getting Forsberg and Naslund who will probably command large dollars. Thank the lord O'Neill signed so cheap...we got lucky there. Not too many other guys who can score 30 goals and are under 30 years old are going to play for 1.5 million.

Doesn't Floppa qualify for the injured player bonus plan option?
So really, they'd only have to find cap room for Naslund, and bring Floppy in at minimum with millions in bonuses if he stays healthy?

True ..

but my thnking is if he is willing to take that low base and bonus package then why not give that offer to Avs first and remain there ??
