Prospect Offensive Potential

What is the offensive potential for the 3-4 prime years of the following players?

1. Jonathan Drouin - 85-90 pts
2. Tomas Hertl - 85 pts
3. Valeri Nichushkin - 80+ pts
4. Elias Lindholm - 70-75 pts
5. Filip Forsberg - 70 pts
6. Anthony Mantha - 65-70 pts
7. Emerson Etem - 65+ pts
8. Nick Bjugstad - 65+ pts
9. Tomas Jurco - 55+ pts
10. Ty Rattie -45-50+ pts

Those seem about accurate other than Hertl; a good rookie season does not make him 85 point potential. 65 I think seems fair.

The list is perfect besides Hertl.
1. Jonathan Drouin
2. Valeri Nichushkin
3. Elias Lindholm
4. Filip Forsberg
5. Tomas Hertl

The rest is perfect.

Do you guys really see Emerson Etem as a player with 65+ point upside?

I also think Jurco will be a less productive NHLer than Jarnkrok. Where's the love on Toffoli?

bjugstad will probably pan out as a 30g 30a player in florida, depends on how many elite FA:s we can get though

bjugstad brings a lot of stuff that the other ones doesn't - very good 2way play, size etc, but since its offensive potential, around 30/30

Maybe in a peak year, but i don't see his offensive totals being that high, maybe like a 20/25-30 consistently.

Like you said, just offensive production. If he keeps progressing like he is, I see him being the NHL's top shutdown guy which my bring his numbers down. In any event, I believe he'll be a Panther until he decides he doesn't want to be one anymore. The organization would be off their rocker to move him.

Yeah Bjugstad could be the next Kesler. I've loved watching his success this year in the NHL along with the success of fellow former Golden Gopher Kyle Okposo.

I think Bjugstads offensive game will grow, but the NCAA path has certainly helped him become a complete player, I think the sky's the limit for this kid.

Aside from Drouin, I think it's too early to estimate how these guys will turn out.

At least some will end up busting (or at least disappointing) and some will take leaps and bounds in their development and turn out to be way better than expected.

I don't see it. Jarnkrok has been a pretty big disappointment with his offensive production thus far in North America.

AHL stats this year...

Tomas Jurco(21 years old): 32 games, 13 goals, 19 assists, 32 points (1.000 PPG)

Calle Jarnkrok(22 years old): 49 games, 10 goals, 16 assists, 26 points (0.531 PPG)

Jarnkrok has a lower PPG than teammates Jurco, Pulkkinen, Almquist, Emmerton, Callahan, Ferraro, Nyquist, Hoggan, Sheahan, and Glendening. That is pretty bad to be outproduced by that many teammates in the AHL..especially for a guy with supposed top 6 upside. It seems he'll more than likely end up a 3rd/4th liner instead.

Jarnkrok's first year in NA so it's a little different from those guys aside from Pulkkinen. And Jarnkrok is a two way center so defense is much more of a focus than Pulkkinen. Jarnkrok had a slow start (adjusting to NA) but has since turned it around. He still has his second line center potential that has always been projected. 9 points in his last 8 games.

Correct. A handful of them will definitely be too high. I see Bjugstad and Mantha being the 2 most likely to hit those totals though. Bjugstad has 13G and 10A (with 0 of those points on the power play) at 20 years old on a horrible offensive team. He should be able to hit 40 points on the season. I don't see any reason why next season with an improved team around him and an improved PP and a year of development why he can't hit 55 points next year.

They're prospects with offensive potential. Don't see how they aren't relevant to this thread.

Because the OP asked specifically about certain players.
