Agreed on both counts, especially for me on an SD television. I'd have suggested having the blue band stop immediately at the borders of the numbers, so that the numbers only have the jersey color as a background.

Yea, I agree. I like those jerseys. But have the blue band stop like Ĺ" or so away from the numbers to make them more readable would have been smart.

He went right at him. Wisely kept out of Heard's reach until he was ready to drop some bombs. It was a good fight.

WHAT A GAME! Exhilarating. I have NEVER been that cold, and I've been to several December Bills games. Scoreboard said it was 18 degrees around game time, but it was much colder with the wind. I'm honestly surprised I don't have frostbite right now.

Some defensive breakdowns and very poor refereeing lead to the Lake Erie comeback, but this was after Rochester came back from a 3-1 deficit in the 2nd. Overall, solid game. Hard to judge in those conditions. It was just fun to get a win in such dramatic fashion, especially in front of the loyal 8000 or so who stayed to watch the overtime and shootout.

I'm surprised I still have toes. The game was great. Cold, but great.

(Weak there AHL! - you would think an recap article of such a special event that was posted on the leagues official website would be a longer article than that? no summary of how all the goals were scored? no quotes from players/coaches?)

Guess the game was a "Thriller" eh? - now after seeing the word "Thriller" being posted a dozen times in articles on the game, I'm in the mood to play and dance to Michael Jacksons "Thriller". LOL!

I love the Americans Jesey even more worn by the players.

Just realized no names on the back. Probably couldn't read the names from the distance anyway.

Awesome hearing Don Stevens on "National" TV (NHLN)

Just saw the Freddy Roy fight. He is a smart, shifty fighter. Bagnall not fighting this year?

Very fun game, had a good time. The place was packed except for the seats right behind home plate low down. But you couldn't see anything there. I'm sure they were wandering around. Love the jerseys. Wish they could be a permanent 3rd jersey. Maybe wear them on Friday's or something.

Question to Rochester ppl: How has Catenacci looked so far this year? Does he look like he could warrant a call-up by the end of the year?

I doubt he gets called up this year. He needs a lot more time to see if his offensive game will catch up to him at the pro levels. He's still fast and not a defensive liability, but he's fighting to pick up points. I don't think he's ever going to be a big offensive producer, but if he wants to be a Darren Helm-type bottom-sixer in the NHLer, he is going to need to stew at least two seasons in the AHL, maybe three.

Yeah pretty accurate. Catenacci is a big work in progress.

Dan Cat is definitely a work in progress. Fast, shifty, can see him making an impact at the AHL level in the next few years, and then progressing to a 3rd line role in the NHL at some point, but right now he's not even in consideration for a callup.

I agree with the others on Cat. He plays pretty hard out there for a rookie and his skating as expected has been high level from day one. It's a big adjustment from him going from being a top scoring line player to his current role. He's going to have to work his way up the food chain in the AHL before he gets a shot at that same bottom 6 role in the NHL.

I stand by the hope that he can be a Helm-esque player but if it's in the cards it certainly won't happen overnight. He'll be in the AHL for a good while, and I wouldn't be surprised to see a guy like Compher leapfrog him into a 3rd line role right after going pro. His skills are fairly well-rounded but outside of skating there's nothing that truly pops out at you, except maybe his ability to work the puck in tight spaces. I don't see him being more than a 3rd liner if he makes the big show, but that's not to say he couldn't be a very good one. He's certainly a guy to keep an eye on as one of our many viable "middle 6" type prospects. That is to say guys who aren't "clear first liners" but who bring some line-up versatility and have a chance at being very good contributors; to varying degrees, guys like Girgensons, Larsson, Compher, Possler, Baptiste, Catenacci, and others all fit that bill.

Not great. He's been really mediocre all year. He's got a terrible defense in front of him, but he's just not playing that good.

Agreed.
Lieuwen has been just as good and that's not saying much.

Connor Knapp seems to be having a Miller-esque season in Greenville posting a .934 SV% with a 3-6-1 record. The team has won 8 games.
