When there is so much hate for one of the guys, who has done NOTHING wrong, I question whether people actually care about this TEAM!

Why would we put him in the press box?
How about G after he signs a bazillion dollar contract and then can't score
How about Timonen when he takes a bad hook
How about Mason when he lets in a softie. Or Emery
How about Grossmann when he has an off-night and looks lost
How about Hartnell when he falls down or slumps?

GIVE THEM A ****ING BREAK

The only time the pressbox is appropriate is when:
1. Downie (or some other agitator) crosses the line
2. Injury
3. The Zherdev scenario (AKA Cancerous)

poor play despite a good effort happens to everyone of these guys at some point

At this point I disagree. It's the same old story with this team; defense plays bad, hangs goalie out to dry, don't play 60 mins, too many penalties, can't handle the forecheck....EVERY. SINGLE. GAME.

Outside of a trade...which I don't want at all, I think the press box is the best way to hold players accountable. You have two NHL defensemen sitting up there, and if you call up McGinn/when Rinaldo comes back healthy you have two fringe NHL forwards up there. Start penalizing sloppy, mistake filled hockey with a night or two in the press box....regardless of point totals, contact size, or letter on jerseys.

After tonight I'd have Hartnell, Coburn, and probably L. Schenn sitting up there. I was fully prepared to stick my neck out and defend Schenn on the main board before he decided to float over to the boards....near ZERO opposing players, in an attempt to disrupt a dump in, and it led to goal 3 or 4...

Laughton had two assists tonight (60 points in 35 games on the year so far).

Not this year, but once last year. Small fast RW. Not a bad player but hard to say if he'll be a NHLer.

Ghost's odds of winning the Hobey Baker may have gone up some. UNH defenseman Trevor Van Riemsdyk broke his ankle last weekend and will be out 6 weeks minimum.

I forgot all about Manning. Can he still be considered part of the potential future of our D with Alt, Morin, Hagg and Ghost?

From the games I have seen he has easily been better than last season but still has trouble in the defensive end. I'd consider him a step below with guys like Konan, Laudisen, etc etc.

Is TvR gonna be an NHL caliber player? Someone Homer should take a look at? Or was he drafted already?

He went undrafted. Someone will sign him though.

On behalf of the Flyers, dibs. What could it hurt?

And didn't JvR already give his bros the thumbs up to practice/train with the Flyers during camp after the trade? There's no hard feelings there.

He's already been in Flyers training camp, at least once.

Unless Gaudreau kills a player on the ice, Ghost has a near 0 chance of winning the Hobey Baker, particularly given that has hasn't scored at all in several weeks and Johnny is red-hot. Gaudreau will win in a walk.... as he should.

I agree about Gaudreau and the Hobey Baker. I thought he probably should have won it last year too.

I hope the Flyers give TVR a contract. When he was invited to prospect camp two summers ago, he looked like the best player on the ice. He's an exceptional skater, and was great at skating the puck and distributing from the back end. He's exactly the kind of prospect we need.

I would not mind them signing FVR either and putting him on the 3rd pairing... he skates better than half our D as a Dutch, ~50 year old shipping executive seemingly after watching Road to the Winter Classic!

Marc Andre Bourdon gets an assist on McGinn's goal in his first game back.

So from Nov 30, 2012 to Jan 25, 2014 I guess it is technically correct to say that Marc-Andre Bourdon has a two-game point streak!

That was nice to watch after that terrible game by the big club.

Akeson continues to be clutch for the farm team.

Not sure he is NHL ready right now, but he is better then the last NHL brother UNH had Blake Kessel.
Probably a safe bet JVR influences him to sign with Toronto.

Did anybody actually watch the Phantoms game? According to twitter apparently MAB looked pretty decent today.
