I actually like Bourdon & think if he can regain his form he could be a decent bottom pairing option but he just came back from a serious injury so it's going to take some time for that to happen if it ever does.

I agree but what he's saying is just nonsense.

I'm curious, can you actually back up your argument with stats or some sort of information? I really want to see your crazy rationale behind this.

Should probably send that Timonen guy down too so we have a spot for Manning to figh....err play. And Voracek. Yeah, him. We need a spot for Rosehill.

Where can we squeeze Fitzgerald onto the big club? 2nd liner?

No need to make fun of someone's English no matter how ridiculous his claims are.

And in case anyone is interested, Eriksson is putting up decent numbers (0.915sv% and a 2.52GAA in 27GP) all things considered (first year in NA, 23 years old, on the 29th placed team in the AHL with a last placed offense). For comparisons sake, the other goalie in Utica (Joe Cannata) had an AHL career .916sv% (15GP) on a 15th placed Chicago Wolves team coming into this season, he has posted a 0.888sv% and a 3.33GAA in 17GP this season.

Eriksson's numbers are good for 20 in GAA and 18th in SV%. All rookies with better numbers are playing on superior teams and some are even backups meaning they don't have the same work load/getting more favorable match-ups.

I agree. I would like to once and for all see what he has at the NHL level cause he's on the last year of his contract. Considering he's been dominant the past three years, on some really bad teams, and only has one NHL game to show for it, he'll most definitely be signing somewhere he thinks he's got a legit shot at playing in the NHL.

It sucks too because I feel like if our team didn't have so many forwards already who are not good defensively, he'd probably get more call ups and chances to stick. The kid has NHL offensive skill and it sucks to see that waste away in the minors. Hopefully his defensive game can improve to the level of Claude Giroux's. G used to suck just as much in his own end and they are of similar build so I could see that as a realistic outcome.

Yea and didn't he score in that one game? Snipe to top shelf I believe. If love to see him up. A injury is bound to happen. Switching him out for vinny would be great

who sits if they call up Akeson?
Hall? Rinaldo? Raffl?
Unless there is an injury he wont be called up. even then I would bet that VV gets recalled first.

Downie

Can Akeson really be slower and worse defensively than Downie has been since Chtistmas?

Yes he did score. People think of him as a play maker only cause he's a pass first guy but he has an excellent shot, much like Giroux. He scored 20 in 62 last season and is currently on pace for 27 goals this season. That's 36 in his past 106 games which is a 25 goal pace over a 76 game season so it's not like he doesn't score goals at all.

Akeson isn't slow and he can pk. His work ethic is awesome which sometimes seems to be lacking in the Flyers.

If they need a 4th liner then I agree. If a spot opens in the top 9 then I don't.
