Dave Scatchard to Rangers

center Dave Scatchard has recieved three offers for around $2.2 million per season, including from the Rangers. Scatchard could come to a decision today and is believed to be leaning toward the Rangers.

I always liked Dave and he is an able replacment to Holik if we can get him for 2 million.

He can play as high as 2nd line if we have all rookies in the lineup and then if we get some guys next summer and put together a competitive squad having Dave in the 3rd line center spot would be ideal.

I would like this signing.

I would like it too. He's a character player, can play 2nd or 3rd line center and he's scored 20 goals a couple of times. 2 million wouldn't be a huge overpayment.

That's the kind of guy that would help the Rangers in a rebuild.

I like this guy. He is a heart and soul player. A good 3rd liner who can move up to 2nd. He'll fight and he's good on faceoffs.

Oh man, I'd love to see Scatchard as a Ranger. Just the type of player that we need. It's time to get back to the grit that we had when guys like Larmer, Graves and Tikkanen were Rangers.

He would be a good choice as an assistant captain if he comes here.

That hurts. I really wanted him. Maybe Straka is playing 3rd line leaving room still for Forsberg and Naslund.

Straka will be playing on the top line next with Nylander and Jagr, Forsberg and Naslund will not happen.

Who said that? I don't think anyone has penciled him in that spot yet. Actually, its more likely he's the number two center if Immonen doesn't sign IMO.

I'd really want to let someone like Jessiman win that spot next to Nylander and Jagr before we make assumptions.
