To be honest, right now I would trade Yakupov for Blake Wheeler(there is a guy that cares). Plus he hits, and is BIG. Any chance that could happen?

The Oilers are going to suck forever, we are the Cleveland Browns, the Pittsburgh Pirates, the Atlanta Thrashers, the Toronto Raptors, all rolled up into one huge big ball of awful. Sure, there will always be some bright spots mixed in, but there is no hope for this team, no light at the end of the tunnel, and no coach is going to be able to magically turn this broken team into anything more than mediocre.
Renney was far from the problem here considering what he had to work with. All 3 of RNH, Hall, and Eberle played some of their best hockey under Renney. Should have never fired the guy. The funny part is that even with the two abysmal seasons with the Oilers Renney still has a winning record. Kind of wonder what would have happened if Tambo was let go instead of Tom 2 years ago and MacT was brought in as GM. I think we have a very different team then right now and one that most likely competes for the playoffs last year.

I would consider moving him with Gagner and the 1st to balance out the line up, and maybe this team can make a decent run to finish the season strong for something to look forward to next season.
At this time he has no value along with Gagner so essentially you are dangling the 1st for what? By the way almost every Oiler other than Perron have been pretty bad this year especially on the defensive side. I am not saying Yakupov is blameless, but leaving out most of the team is just ridiculous. He is a better player that I believe will be traded and properly brought along in another organization surrounded by competent people, everything the Oilers organization doesn't have.

Yakupov + 1st rounder

for

Wheeler + Byfuglien + 2nd round pick.

Just do it. I don't even care if it's terrible.

Those stars look like pom-poms, and honestly, hey, it's kind of what's happening now.

Why not try...
Perron-Arco-Eberle
Hall-Lander-Yak
Omark-Gordon-Hemsky
MacIntyre-Acton-Gazdic

It's not as if we have stuff to play for anymore.

(I'd actually love to see Lander in a scoring role in the top 6. Like I just said, it's not as if we have remotely anything to play for, other than Ekblad)

I wonder how long it'll take for Hall to request a trade.

Must be some seriously nervous minutes for him... Every time they lose, the closer they get to him. He's probably clutching his Barrie Colts jersey and rocking back and forth.

If Hall was 1/2 as good as he thinks he is he would be leading the league in points.....but it's time for him to take a good look in the mirror cause he leads the team in turnovers.....he is as much of the problem as anyone....41 to 23 tka ...

That's bad. The team isn't on the same minds. It's all on individuals having different opinions on how they play.

Does MacT want us to believe we're still improving?

Will the media try and corner him this time?

Or should they just interrogate the Russians some more?

I get the feeling that no big trades are coming any time soon as almost every agent is enjoying watching the "Oilowers" suffer.

I don't see it happening unless his profit line really takes a hit. Speaking to a journalist(not in the sports department) friend who resides in Edmonton he told me the general consensus is that the Oilers organization truly believes the fans will keep coming. I am just curious how many of you have spoken to others about the team there and what is the general feelings of the fans. I get the impression most people are fed up with the team's excuses and p.r. machine which keeps pumping out garbage.
If Taylor Hall demanded a trade that however might make Katz wake the **** up.

No kid in his right mind wants to come to a loser organization with 3 #1 overall picks and still find themselves floundering at the bottom of the barrel of suck. It would be a complete disservice to bring onboard a guy who has competed all his life to be the best, worked and had his family sacrifice many things, only to come in and learn the culture or losing (see Hall, Nuge, and now Yak). And yet, what else is there for us as fans to look forward to at this point? They are god awful this season, even worse because they continue to show an inability to learn and adjust their games as players.

I should add Gordon has been steady as well which are credited to MacT, but that doesn't excuse the fact the man completely **** the bed fixing the team's back end.

The fact that one of them blamed the "empty seats" on the weather is obvious. Management is clueless. For a billionaire, I would expect Katz to have better logic and realize that the team is suffering with an inept management. But no, as long as he's getting the profits, its all "screw the tier 2 fans."

You know who that sounds like? ... Moreau in his last years as an Oiler. Entitled, smug, unable to separate and think critically about the **** that is happening in front of his eyes.

Not like there's much he could have done. Ference was probably one of the top 2 UFA defensemen available.

I just read that they have to win 8 of their last 12 to match Krueger's record last year.
