It's a bit odd of a signing but if this means we don't have to see Taormina again I'm all for it. He made some horrible passes against the Islanders and hasn't been too good in the other games.

And you have to love a big body who's willing to clear the front of the net. Gudas has been the only one doing that and other teams have gone to the net hard against us. Maybe now that we have a second defenseman who's doing that they will think about it a bit more.

Cooper specifically talked about the Bolts not responding to team's bumping the goalies, and having a mean guy in front of the net.

Last game Bishop was knocked over by a opposing player at least two times and except for Gudas nobody seemed to care. I sure hope Cote changes that.

From a "meh" signing to a fan favorite in half a game.

I just got back. Has he knocked people down in the crease? What's he done?

Has an assist, was on the ice for another goal, drew a penalty, and hugged Paul Kennedy.

Thank god indeed. Although I will take some time to realize that Ryan Shannon didn't suddenly re-sign and become bigger and tougher but way slower.

I think he'll fit in fine as a 5-6 D but no higher than that. He should be played against the 3rd line of the opposing team and aim for 12-14 minutes a night. His lack of speed is not ideal, since Brewer and Salo are quite slow too.

I was not able to see any games since he is on the team, but do you guys think he is here to stay? His secondary assists luck will not go on for ever, but that is obviously not for what he is here.
Is he an upgrade over Aulie and/ or Barberio as #7 or #8?

He plays a style which is a lot like Gudas, but they've been hiding him by giving him favorable matchups and reduced ice time. I might give the nod to Aulie because of his size and reach advantage but Cote actually uses his size more and has the edge on burst speed as well. Doesn't have the offensive instincts of Barberio in the offensive zone but is reliable in the other 2/3 of the ice.

Once where fully healthy I can't see him beating out anybody, probably goes back to Syracuse. But I could be wrong.
