This always bothers for me some reason. It shouldn't, but it does.

I love seeing obscure names on jerseys and I love seeing jerseys from different teams (even if they are repping a team this isn't playing). So I def. don't agree with the article on that front.

Yep, I have a few older jerseys that I break out from time to time and get comments from long time season ticket holders. Most are cool haven't seen that name in a long time.

I only find it annoying if they wear a jersey for a player that doesn't/never played for the team. I remember going to my first Sharks home game in 1995 and seeing an middle-aged lady wearing a teal first-gen Sharks jersey with Jeremy Roenick's name and 27 on the back. Unless she arrived in a time machine from 12 years in the future, this is unacceptable.

Don't be a mouthy idiot.

Shouting "F-off (opposing player)" every 5 minutes is not clever

Kill your air horn. You can yell and cheer as the game warrants, but don't deafen me and everyone else.

Don't go to the game to get blind drunk. If you want to get sloshed, go to the bar.

OH I wanted to add. Most classless thing I have ever seen at a hockey game.

A guy at a Duck game was focusing a green laser from a laser pen directly at the eyes of the King's goaltender for a large portion of the game. They finally were able to nab the guy after making an arena-wide announcement...but that is completely unacceptable. Was really embarrassing as a Duck fan.

Only rules that matter are:

1- Don't leave or go to your seat until there is a stoppage in play.
2- Don't splash the guy in next urinal over.
3- No profanity.

I could careless about the jersey one chooses to wear, but would question anyone's sensibility if they seem to care enough to write rules about it.

This x100.

Leaning forward is fine, as long as your posterior isn't way out on the edge. The sightlines rely on this.
san jose was the only arena i ever got crap for with this by an usher. sorry, i dont like watching hockey with my back firmly flat against the back of my seat. i have to lean forward a little. they were probably just picking on me for my pens jersey. never had this issue with any other building.

I don't like watching hockey without kicking my feet. Also I can't watch a movie without talking on the phone.

If you are struggling to find your seat, please do not stand in the aisle while the game is on, simply crouch or find an empty seat nearby, then when the play is stopped again ask an usher where your seat is.

sorry, i don't buy the whole "it messes with people's view" argument. if someone in front of you leans forward, then you should be able to see better, not worse.

Is that a foul?

but a rule that should have been in there is leave a person in another team's jersey alone. they paid to get in just like you did and your team doesn't care if you can beat this person up in their honor

Wait... i spent money on a ticket, gas, food, parking and I cannot wear whatever jersey I want? Get bent.

If i want to wear my Team Finland jersey, I will (and I get many compliments). If I want to wear my Miami Hurricane hockey jersey, I will.

Who are you to dictate what is acceptable and what is not?

I DO WHAT I WANT, WHATEVER!!!

Maybe one day you will have the misfortune of having your view obstructed as a result of someone leaning forward in their seat. I don't know about other arenas but at Rexall Place they tell you to sit back and to not lean forward before the game starts. And I don't doubt at some arenas it obstructs the view more than at others.

any time my view has been obstructed its been from degenerates who get up during play or people with gigantic heads sitting in front of me who i wish would lean forward. but eventually i'll get to every arena. so far i've only been to 7.

Had to laugh at the "shoot" part of it in the OP. You should watch replays of the Leafs from years ago when we had Kaberle. You can hear 19,000 people yelling for him to shoot, which he never did. It became laughable among fans after a while and sort of an on going joke for many years.

I always get irritated when people bang on the glass when the play is in the corner. What exactly is the purpose of this?

I disagree with the first and second in the OP.

For #1, it should just be you have to wear a hockey jersey. I hate going to a Ranger game and I see someone wearing a Mets jersey.

#2 is just stupid.

How can leaning forward possibly obstruct the view of somebody behind you? The seat behind you is raised, and if you lean forward you are actually getting even more out of the way.
