Game thread - Exhibition - Habs@Leafs 29 Oct. 7:30 PM EST

Looks like HABS-65 isn't here, so I'll start the game thread today.

Canadiens (1-2-0-2) vs. Leafs (1-3-0-0 )

You can catch the game on the radio at http://www.cjad.com in English or http://www.ckac.com in French.

Leafs lineup:

Goaltenders:
20 ED BELFOUR - G
35 JAMIE HODSON - G

Defense:
8 AKI BERG - D
38 PIERRE HEDIN - D
15 TOMAS KABERLE - D
45 CARLO COLAIACOVO - D
55 RIC JACKMAN - D
27 BRYAN MARCHMENT - D

Forwards:
11 OWEN NOLAN - F
16 DARCY TUCKER - F
19 MIKAEL RENBERG - F
21 ROBERT REICHEL - F
23 ALEXEI PONIKAROVSKY - F
25 JOE NIEUWENDYK - F
2 WADE BELAK - F
28 TIE DOMI - F
39 TRAVIS GREEN - F
41 MATT STAJAN - F
46 BRAD LEEB - F
47 NATHAN PERROTT - F (courtesy of the leafs website)

The following is my own opinion based on what I've read about the leafs vs. sens games.

Who's hot: Perrott, Marchment.

Who's not: Domi, Hedin, Renberg.

Canadiens lineup: (thanks fredez for putting it in line by line style)

In Net
Mathieu Garon

Defence
Traverse-Brisebois
Hainsey-Dykhuis
Komisarek-Bouillon

Forwards
Audette-Perreault-Dagenais
Perezhogin-Hossa-Plekanec
Ward-Juneau-Ryder
Carpentier-Higgins-Ferland

Who's hot: Hossa, Garon.

Who's not: Dwyer, Perezhogin.

I predict a 3-2 Canadiens win. GO HABS GO!!!

My opinion, there amy be some blood spilled tonight as the Leafs are coming off a tough, physical loss to Ottawa.

I think the Julien is trying to have the Habs D establish more physical presence in front of Theodore, so this should be fun, especially if the Leafs have the usual cast of cartoon characters dressed.

Domi,Tucker and Marchment aren't the ones you have to worry about.

It's Perrott & Belak to watch out for.

"Ce sera le cas ce soir pour Michael Ryder, Alexander Perezhogin, Chris Higgins, Tomas Plekanek et pour le dur-à-cuire Benjamin Carpentier."

They say Higgins, Perezhogin, Carpentier, Plekanec and Ryder will play tonight..

It should be pretty interresting..

I would imagine that tonight and tomorrow will be the last games the young guys will get to play before getting sent down. After tomorrow, we only have two preseason games left (this weekend) so I am assuming the roster will be set by then. The lineup for the weekend games should be very close to the opening day lineup.

Btw, 4-3 Habs tonight.

Bell Express Vu does not broadcast the game for people in Quebec, if I'm not mistaken. Well, I'm speaking for myself because the last game between the Habs and the Leafs was blacked out in my area.

No problem. I don't mind doing it throughout the season (except on friday nights, saturday nights and jewish holidays).

I'm still trying to find our starting lineup.

Edit: by the way, sticky please.

Thanks, I hope so too.

Very offensive game.

Perrott nearly scored... Garon got a pad on it and Brisebois cleared the rebound.

Then PLekanec nearly scored.

Juneau, Ryder Ward play one line.

Updating the canadiens lineup as we go.

Juneau and Ryder collided in front of our own bench. Quite humorous actually, but Hedin nearly scored off it. Bad line change.

It looks like:

Dagenais-Perreault-Audette
Hossa-Plekanec-Perezhogin
Ryder-Juneau-Ward
Ferland-Higgins-Carpentier

Traverse-Brisebois
Bouillon-Komisarek
Hainsey-Dykhuis (don't know who plays on the right side though)

Garon

pLekanec-Hossa-Perezhogin is another line.

Audette-Perreault-Dagenais

Hossa nearly scored off a great setup by PLekanec.

Traverse broke up the rush well, but what the hell is he playing with Brisebois for? I smell disaster.

Garon

I didnt hear Higgins' name yet.

Brisebois playing awesome.

Big hit on Belak... block on some shot and then broke up a good chance.

Mogilny took a hard slapshot which Garon gloved I think.
