It might not prove any more accurate in listing the next Datsyuk in the top 30 where everyone else has the player in the 7th round, but his list will be the truest reflection of what happens on draft day.
The problem I have with McKenzie's list is that it is really just a poll. It's no different than when we rank our prospects in the offseason. I would much rather see each individual scouts ranking, and comments from them as far as to why they rank those prospects as they do.

I have personally ranked my top 100 prospects and posted them on Prospects board with a quick note on each prospect. I also have answered several questions on that thread validating my reasoning. I wish more people, like myself, who have watched a pile of prospects would rank the top 10, 30, 60, 100.....and justify it.

Would you do our 1st for Ehrhoff + prospect? He's a #2 Dman who is on a cheap contract (4 million) and can help our defense right now.

Perhaps MacT is really trying to figure out what these prospects value is in case someone makes a pitch for our 1st rounder. If he thinks Ekblad is going to Buffalo then its important that he knows whether Reinhart is going to be a piece of the pie here, or do we deal that pick for someone who is going to be a piece of the core

Erhoff is a #1 D man on half of the teams in the NHL. That being said would be a tough sell. He is 31....... hard to justify. If he was 26 I would pull the trigger for sure.

It would be a minor miracle if we weren't one of those 8 teams.

have to agree here. We got to be one of the 8. Forget all the negative Edmonton stuff, why would he come to a rebuilding team?

well I'll say this, I personally go to about 70% of the ice dogs homes games. I have seen Kevin Lowe there 3 times, and Tambo once. So far no MacT. I saw K-Lowe twice + Tambo the year we had Strome and Hamilton going into the draft. This year I assume Lowe was there to see Perlini and the Kingston kids.

Markov should be a target to help our new draftee (if Ekblad) and other prospects. Like 7.5 x 2

Thought I'd remind those interested if they weren't already aware, this Friday the Sportsnet CHL game of the week is Dal Colle's Generals vs Bennett's Frontenacs.

They're showing a game that doesn't involve the London Knights? I'm pretty sure this violates some contracts.

Draisaitl 2+2 and +3 in a 9-2 drubbing. Prince Albert playing well and Leon starting to contribute beyond the PP.

Nikolaj Ehlers might be moving up in some people's books.

Has had a hat trick in each of his last three games.

16 goals and 6 assists in his last 7 games.

Im kind of hoping Edmonton ends up drafting Bennet this year, I think he would be the perfect addition and solidify our top 6 with a good mix longterm. Oilers have D prospects coming but have no one in the pipeline at center. It would be the shrewd move, but I like the kid think he could end up best player in draft.

The top 6 of this draft is solid, not much to be disappointed with. I'd be happy with any of Ekblad, Reinhart, Bennet or Draisatl (who seems to be underwhelming despite scoring at a slightly higher rate than RNH did in the WHL during his draft year).

From the little bit I've seen of this player he looks to be exactly the style of center we need. Would be an awesome fit with Hall IMO.

By "little bit" I mean youtube clips.... Still I like the style even if I can't fairly comment on consistency.

Are you really going to go on with this again? Did you not read the last response I had to your questions about Bennett? FIGHT IN THE DOG, NOT THE DOG IN THE FIGHT. Everybody would love Wayne Simmonds here, he is 183 lbs. Evander Kane was 174 in his draft year. On the other side of the spectrum, we've had all 6'4 230 of Dustin Penner and seen what he brings - one physically intimidating shift out of 100.

Hall has good size, yet he is less physical than Nuge or Yak. The player either has it or he doesn't. Bennett has it. He also doesn't even turn 18 until August. By the time he is NHL ready (1-2 years), he could be 6'1 and 195 - same size as Seguin, but with way more feistiness. What is wrong with a player like that?

80% of the people here comment without ever seeing a player play a game. i had someone say that jaden schwartz isnt needed here because he is another undersized forward.

Man oh man, I've been trying to avoid this draft outside of the 1st round, but with all of these random later picks, who should I be looking at?

Hopefully MacT flips them, but if not, how deep does this one go?

The Oilers seriously need to hire a full time nutritionist/trainer ... someone versed in bodybuilding and training athletes like in the NFL (so no fruit tray loving marathon runner ala Eakins) who provides meals for the kids.
